About us:

Based in New York but fully distributed, Shortcut builds project management software for software and product teams that people actually want to use - just ask an engineer how they feel about Jira. Thousands of the fastest-growing software companies use Shortcut to plan and build software, including Glossier, Venmo, Dataiku, Scale AI, FullStory, LaunchDarkly, and others.

The role:

A dream job for any product manager - come help us build the future of how product managers and engineers ideate, plan, build, and ship software using Shortcut. As a bonus, you’ll be helping take down two of the worst software tools our peers have been forced to use over the years: Jira & Confluence.

The Product Management team at Shortcut is small, well established, and growing. PMs work as part of a team made up of design, engineering, and product to drive our product forward. Teams are responsible for specific missions and have complete autonomy and accountability over their areas. Product Managers work closely cross functionally with Customer Success, Marketing, and Leadership. You will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative and product minded team to build project management tools people actually love to use. We aim to empower our teams to have responsibility over the applications they deliver, and you will provide the expertise, tooling, and structure to enable that.

Shortcut is an excellent place to share and grow your Product Management skills. The team offers strong mentorship in a collaborative and supportive environment. We also offer a generous educational stipend to help you continue to develop your skills.

What you'll do:

  • Own, and be accountable for, a product area and associated KPIs and OKRs
  • Take responsibility for collaborating with PMs, engineers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of features
  • Partner closely with the Design team and Engineering teams in day to day
  • Develop business requirements and specification documents
  • Lead your team in product planning, roadmap development, and long-term strategy planning
  • Analyze product data to derive insights to assist in prioritization and post release measurement
  • Perform customer interviews and research to validate feature concepts, unlock insights, and be the voice of the customer
  • Act as a subject matter expert within the organization for the product area

You should have:

  • 3+ years of experience managing products, shipping great software, effectively driving prioritization, and identifying and making key tradeoffs
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability for a revenue line, run the business KPI, or product area
  • Experience with product analytics and BI tools, and the data fluency to query and analyze data to identify product insights and trends
  • Passion for user experience, and working collaboratively with design
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills

Extra credit (nice to have):

  • Product experience building SaaS and/or B2B tools
  • Experience mentoring or managing others
  • Product experience building collaborative editing tools, and/or productivity tools
  • Basic SQL skills
  • Experience working with fully remote teams

Even if you don't meet all of the requirements listed, we still encourage you to apply. Job requirements are a wishlist, not a checklist, and we're happy to help the right candidate grow into this role - if you're excited about Shortcut, we're excited about you!

What we offer:

  • Compensation: A competitive salary in addition to meaningful equity in the company - you should be able to take ownership of what you’re helping to build.
  • Benefits: Health, Dental, and Vision insurance, FSA, OneMedical, Teladoc, Health Advocate, 401(k), commuter benefits
  • Work-life balance: A flexible open vacation policy, in addition to 10 company holidays, 5 sick days, and 3 “Dot Days” (our term for bonus days off), community (volunteer) PTO, 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave. We also observe 40 hour work weeks without the expectation of after-hours or weekend work.
  • Learning and development: A $2,000 annual stipend to use toward conferences, educational courses, books, membership fees and more
  • WFH: We are a fully remote company, and we provide all the equipment you need to work from home in addition to an annual WFH stipend.

Target base salary for this role based on experience: $150,000-$165,000 annually + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k))
