Senior Product Manager, Search Science

The Search Team is a part of the Core Enablement Group - the technical foundation of Reverb powering best-in-class product experiences through our product catalog, data models and the continued evolution of our recommendations and search science. The Search Team conceptualizes, builds, and tests ways to make it easier for users to browse Reverb's diverse inventory of music gear and find exactly what they're looking for. 

This is a full-time position based in Chicago, reporting to the Director of Product Management. We are open to remote hires within multiple states as well as candidates local to Chicago, IL. For candidates who will work remotely, visit this link for a list of approved locations. 

Responsibilities

• Work with team members across the organization to identify and evaluate opportunities to solve user problems 
• Partner with Engineers and Data Scientists to optimize Reverb's Elasticsearch implementation and machine learning models for recall and ranking
• Build and own an outcome-focused roadmap, weighing competing needs and changing requirements to prioritize the most impactful work
• Develop the KPIs and metrics that define search success, owning the performance, measurement and communication of business impact and outcomes of your team’s work
• Work closely with Analytics to test and measure search quality to improve search algorithms for performance and consistency across Reverb's website and mobile applications
• Ensure priorities are understood across Engineering, Design, Research and the rest of the Core Team

• 5+ years of technical experience, with a background in CS and/or hands-on experience using data science or machine learning at scale
• 3+ years of relevant software/web product management work
• Experience with and technical understanding of online search tools, techniques, and best practices
• Experience with the practical application of search technology, preferably in an e-commerce or marketplace context
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to use data and analysis for product planning and determining the impact of projects
• A bias for action when facing competing priorities in a way that keeps the team focused, while demonstrating progress to internal partners
• Outstanding written and verbal skills
