Senior Product Manager, Search & Discovery (Remote, North America)

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own our end-to-end Search product for Storefronts.

• You'll define long-term product strategy for Search in merchants’ storefronts and identify new problems and opportunities where Search can be leveraged at Shopify.
• You’ll work closely with senior R&D counterparts (e.g. director of data and engineering, senior UX manager) to build and scale the team.
• You'll motivate and influence senior leadership, key stakeholders, drive buy-in for your ideas, and tell exceptional stories around why and what we should build.
• You’ll execute with a high-performing (and growing) team of senior/staff level engineers, data scientists, UX, product marketers, legal and partner managers to create compelling technical patterns, design systems, and shared features.
• You’ll help grow the product management team by hiring world-class product managers. 
• You'll define success metrics for your product area, and drive alignment for all product efforts to those measures.
• You'll lean on your leadership and collaboration skills as you work closely with senior leadership and peers across different product areas.

• A proven history of success in product management roles. You are a Senior Product Manager currently owning or has owned a large scope of consumer-facing search/recommendations/discovery products and features. 
• You have deep domain knowledge of building consumer-facing search/discovery/recommendations products and are on top of the latest trends in the space.
• You have a track record of shipping highly complex and impactful search products (e.g. discovery, recommendations/personalization, and/or ad targeting engines).
• You have experience working closely with engineers, data scientists, UX (both leaders and ICs) to ship products. 
• An entrepreneurial mindset. You must be comfortable rolling up your sleeves, thriving in ambiguity, and getting the work done.
• A love of storytelling and excellent communication skills to be able to interpret and distill technical concepts and information for non-technical stakeholders.
• A genuine excitement for solving merchant problems and a strong sense of empathy for the merchant and their buyers.
• Technical knowledge or experience in engineering, data science, or an undergrad degree in a technical field.
