We are looking for a customer and data driven Senior Product Manager to join our Payroll Experiences team to help re-imagine and build the Payroll of the future.

As part of Gusto’s Payroll Experiences team, you will collaborate with a team of engineers, designers, and data scientists to define and build the heart of our core product, Payroll. 

We are looking for an analytical and empathetic Senior Product Manager to create delightful, seamlessly automated and simplified workflows and user experience. You’ll bring your passion for customers, problem-solving, and detailed execution to simplify complex and highly regulated jobs-to-be-done and create delightful and easy-to-use experiences for customers.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Conduct user research and work closely with customers to deeply understand their needs and jobs-to-be-done, distill insights from key stakeholders across the company, industry trends, user-experience research, product generated data, competitive analysis, sales-data and become an expert in Payroll and Payroll Compliance.  
  • Collaborate with your cross functional partners and stakeholders to develop a strategy for your domain, and then translate it into a roadmap, requirements and milestones.
  • Take complex and ambiguous problems in a highly regulated domain, go deep and distill them into actionable solutions.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Design, and Data Science to solve complex problems, driving the product development process from concept to launch.
    • Ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products, shipping features that delight customers, and resulting in significant and measurable business impact. 
  • Understand, track and improve key product and business metrics.
  • Partner closely with your cross-functional teams, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, to ensure the success of launched features, including Go-To-Market, launching, selling, and support. 
  • Iterate on the features using data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and optimization, and ensure that the features delight our customers and surpass our business goals.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of hands-on product management experience, and a proven track record of building products customers love preferably in rapidly scaling companies.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: ability to articulate and build business models and prioritization 
    • Ability to define and track metrics to successfully launch and land high impact features. 
    • Experienced driving at-scale features/improvements to mature products. 
    • High attention to detail, strong bias for action and highly organized.  
  • Driving end-to-end execution with cross functional partners while building strong partnership and collaboration to garner buy-in across all levels and cross-functional teams. 
  • Relentlessly focused on customers’ needs, and thrive in working backward from the needs of your customers to build solutions that scale. 
  • Experience distilling complex and ambiguous problems into actionable solutions. 
    • Strong product discovery and research skills. Experienced in conducting user research, and usability testing, analyzing user data, conducting market research, and making data-driven product decisions.
  • Previous experience in a highly regulated domain and/or in Payroll is a plus.

Our cash compensation range for this role is $158,000/yr to $188,000/yr in Denver & most remote locations, and $192,000/yr to $228,000/yr in San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
