Job Description

What’s it all about?

The Product Function is responsible for creating and building a world class cross-border payment solution, supporting a portfolio of products and adding sustainable value to the business.

This role will drive critical growth initiatives, both globally and regionally, in a complex, matrixed environment.

This position will report into the Head of Product and Network Integration. The successful candidate will work cross functionally with Visa Direct Global Teams and VPL Teams to build and enhance the VPL pay to wallet network.

 

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • This position requires an experienced Product Lead with deep payments experience and a proven ability in the Product Management discipline. The key responsibilities include:
  • Lead the Network strategy and execution of the Digital Wallets Network roadmap in close partnership with the Visa Direct Global Team, Network Delivery, Technology and Operational Teams
  • Gather and study market trends, industry standards and developments, competitive landscapes, and the voice of the customer to identify new opportunities to enhance the value proposition and influence the integration product roadmap
  • Serve as a technical SME for Digital Wallets by obtaining a deep knowledge of the product and to influence emerging payment standards
  • Develop analytics, reports and KPIs to define what winning looks like, build robust business cases, and optimize the prioritization of the Mobile Wallets roadmap
  • Collaborate with the Network Management Team to drive forward the go to market and distribution plans for Mobile Wallets, including the articulation of the value proposition, marketing strategy, and ongoing metrics to measure product benefits
  • Work with Legal, and Compliance teams to manage the policies surrounding Mobile Wallets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Work with other Product partners to identify potential cross-product synergies and new use cases to leverage and/or combine product capabilities to deliver incremental value to customers
  • Engage with and influence internal business unit leaders and partners to understand customer needs and pain points, collaborate on new/relevant product concepts, and co-develop solutions to ultimately drive spend
  • Leading and managing the endpoint integration to the wallet partners to support the pay to wallet proposition.
  • Facilitating the prioritization of development activities and with senior stakeholders between Visa Direct and Visa Payments Ltd to enable technology sizing and definition, as well as the management and execution of an agreed roadmap for Payments to Wallets product offering
  • Defining the standard wallet integration features and ways of working with a given Wallet endpoint and understand the evolving needs and challenges to build and enhance
  • Managing and coordinating a team of Product Managers, Product Owners and Analysts providing ongoing guidance and knowledge transfer to less tenured Product Managers and Product Owners.
  • Work cross functionally to support the definition and execution of the Visa Direct and VPL product strategy and associated roadmaps
  • Work with internal and external partners to execute the product and partner integration roadmap and launch of new functional capabilities
  • Leading the scoping and evaluation of product features by creating and improving product KPIs.
  • Liaise with Risk, Technology, Client Services, Treasury, Operations Internal & External stakeholders to ensure flawless product execution
  • Lead the transformation of product ideas into actionable concepts, timelines, and projects whilst considering the financial implications, marketing needs, and the overall objectives of Visa Payments Limited.
  • Represent Visa Direct Payouts Service from a VPL perspective to ensure value proposition and product features are communicated effectively to existing and new clients
  • Ensure agreed product vision and requirements are designed with scalability and long-term vision in mind.
  • Provide status, action plan and recommendations to senior leadership on an ongoing basis
  • Support full product lifecycle, including NBIA, Vendor Evaluation and Onboarding, Privacy Information Assessment.
  • Ensure continuous improvement across the product portfolio, improving revenue and profits and delivering customer satisfaction
  • Lead governance processes to validate new network features comply with regulatory, security, privacy, and risk policies.
  • Respond to most complex issues, challenges and concerns related to product features, challenging and pushing back as required.
  • Build and manage relationships with both internal and external senior stakeholders, escalating only in the most critical situations.
  • Work with others to utilise multiple information sources in order to resolve complex problems, identifying potential solutions and recommendations.
  • Explain complex issues and work with others to reach a consensus in order to achieve the project objectives and success criteria.
  • Work within existing practices and processes, challenge where appropriate and contribute to improvements.
  • Define KPIs and success metrics; track and analyse progress against goals
  • Monitor product performance; identify opportunities and make recommendations to drive product uptake and effectiveness
  • Evaluate and sponsor new opportunities to enhance Product offering and features
  • Coach, mentor, and/or manage other product managers

Qualifications

What we’re after…

  • Working knowledge of Digital Wallets and 3+ years of experience in a Product role supporting digital payments
  • Experience with APIs and SDKs, experience in reading and understanding technical interfaces including APIs.
  • Demonstrable experience (+5 Years) in the payments industry, specifically in cross border payments, SWIFT payments, ACH payments, ISO20022, global instant schemes, SEPA SCT, SEPA Instant etc.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Relevant experience:
  • Deep experience in Product delivery and execution focussed with a proven track record of coordinating between Business, Delivery, and Technology teams to define, prioritize, and deliver on a product roadmap
  • Good communication skills with the ability to break down complex technical concepts into simple business terms that align to the business strategy.
  • Payment’s expertise, with a finger on the pulse of industry and competitor developments.
  • Strategic thought leadership with good ability and experience in synthesizing and translating market, industry trends into opportunities to enable build and enhancement of the digital wallets product offering
  • Ability to mobilize and lead cross-functional teams through collaboration to achieve results in a fast paced, multi-partner environment with constant change.
  • Demonstrated track record for delivering results in complex and highly-matrixed organizations
  • Demonstratable capability in Agile product management techniques and practices to ensure delivery of high quality and innovative product offerings.
  • Solid and proven experience and understanding of the discipline of Product Management and Product development Lifecycle
  • Strong analytic thinker with ability to quickly understand and decompose large business problems and in turn create material for both technical and business-focussed audiences to communicate problem break-down.
  • Comfortable with full accountability for the quality, performance & user experience of client-facing payment solution
  • Excellent planning, problem solving, organisation, analytical and issue resolution skills
  • Work collaboratively to assess and understand the needs of all key stakeholders and aligning these with the product roadmap when prioritising in Programme Increment (PI) planning session.
  • Demonstrable experience within a payment processing institution, disciplined and comfortable with ambiguity, possessing the maturity and capability to interact and influence across multiple levels and organisations internal and external to Visa
  • Proven track record in delivering Product offerings and features within complex and fast evolving matrix driven organisation.
  • Effective and established leader, proven people management, communications and influencing skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships and work collaboratively with and through others
  • Excellent skills in drafting presentations, reports, communications, and other deliverables
  • Proven structured approach, analytical thinker with excellent communication skills
  • A strong interest in how products are developed and delivered and a strong desire to make an impact
  • Proven project management and product development experience
  • Strong sense of urgency and experience driving to successful commercialization
  • Ensure personal efforts are integrated and aligned with functional objectives
  • Take prompt, decisive action after analysing relevant information
