Job Description

What’s the role?

We are looking for a product manager to lead the Payments Core Integrations squad. The Payments team at Etsy is committed to crafting and maintaining a resilient, streamlined and scalable payments platform for buyers, sellers and Etsy globally. Available in 45 countries, Etsy Payments enables buyers and sellers to transact in 22 currencies and offers 12 different methods to pay for items on our site.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Product. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States who are either remote, flex, or office-based. What’s this team like at Etsy?

  • We are a critical group responsible for products that keep money moving at Etsy.
  • A squad focusing on the integrations with our processors for buyer purchases and seller pay-outs and driving the strategy to add resilience, scalability as well as expand the Etsy Payments product globally.
  • We work with internal and external partners to build solutions that move money securely and efficiently.

What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Partner with engineering, analytics, design, other (payments) infrastructure teams to define and prioritize the highest impact projects.
  • Own and develop the Core Integration strategy and roadmap. Prioritize work thoughtfully and communicate commitments and updates to partners on an ongoing cadence.
  • Drive the squad's execution by collaborating closely with engineering and analytics partners.
  • Responsible for the performance (and measurement) of the team’s product and operational experiences, including impact to the business and our customers.
  • Integrate analysis and customer feedback into product requirements to ensure products satisfy customer needs, as well as wants.
  • Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Qualifications

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • Experience leading infrastructure-focused product development squads.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce, working within payment systems and vendor integrations to process payments is a strong plus.
  • Familiar using qualitative and quantitative data to make product decisions. You also know when and how to balance data with intuition.
  • Passionate about solving real customer problems and advocating for their needs. You’re opinionated about trying to minimize any negative impact on the customer experience.
  • Inspiring, engaging and clear communication styles; optimistic and forward-looking!
  • Natural collaborator who knows how to drive decision-making with Engineering, Product Design, and analytics.
  • A passionate member of the Etsy community and someone who believes in Etsy’s vision, mission and values!
