Senior Product Manager, Orchestration Platform

Etsy has an inventory unusually unique to the e-commerce space and a customer base passionate about high quality products. We are looking for an experienced product manager to join our Orchestration Platform team.

As the Product Manager for Orchestration, you will be charged with helping business-critical teams build products on top of IR Platform. You will define the vision and strategy for our internal APIs allowing products to use our innovative IR technology, and implementing it. You will work closely with customer teams in understanding their use cases, develop work streams for building future integrations, all while building highly available, highly performant systems.

You will play a central role in blending R&D for information retrieval to help buyers and sellers navigate Etsy’s extensive marketplace and deliver outstanding customer experiences. You will closely partner with extraordinary talent across engineering, design, seller communications and marketing, to create an industry leading platform!

About Orchestration

At Etsy, the orchestration team is the bridge between customer experiences and state of the art technology. They build and maintain the core APIs that allow product teams to integrate with IR Platform and Retrieval Sciences’ core technologies, while delivering world class reliability and availability. As the focal point of several business-critical applications such as Search, Ads, Recommendations, Trust and Safety, and more, they juggle several sets of requirements, solving near-term problems while balancing a long term strategic vision. Orchestration allows us to reuse these innovations widely and efficiently, ensuring our buyer and sellers on Etsy get best in class experiences.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Product Management]. We are considering remote candidates based in the United States for this position. Etsy offers three different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team: Flex mode for candidates who are comfortable traveling to an office location 1+ times per week, Remote mode, and Office-based mode. About the Role

• Product management for one of Etsy’s most critical platform teams.
• Define vision and strategy, setting the stage for long term, continued success
• Work with partner teams to gather input and define priorities leading to product execution
• Integrate usability studies, quantitative and qualitative research and market analysis into product design

About You

• BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• 4 years of relevant work experience at a software company in a similar role.
• Experience working with highly cross functional teams
• Great communicator, able to talk shop with engineering partners, and communicate vision to business leaders
• Strong desire to continually innovate and incrementally deliver value

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong platform product experience
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational skills, and product intuition with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends
• Experience developing products impacting several customers with differing needs.
• Experience with e-commerce or two-sided marketplaces
