Senior Product Manager

As we grow to address more and more workloads, performance remains a top priority. We have and continue to invest heavily in our performance infrastructure, leading the industry in our practice. We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to continue to expand upon our platform performance efforts.

The ideal candidate has experience in application performance benchmarking, A/B testing in lab and production environments, data analysis and modeling, and coordinating complex projects across the company.

This role can be based out of our Palo Alto office, San Francisco office or remotely from the US West Coast (PST timezone).

Responsibilities

• Lead the product and engineering teams to optimal product decisions with data analysis from internal stakeholders, customers, prospects, and market studies
• Drive the performance culture across the whole company
• Drive collaboration across Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and executive leadership
• Improve the performance infrastructure for both internal and external usages
• Passionately advocate for our customers about performance, usability, and security
• Provide an unparalleled customer experience by driving new features, marketing programs, customer surveys, partnerships, pricing and technical documentation
• Work with adjacent products to ensure each initiative delivers maximum impact to customers and avoid performance regressions to customer workloads across our data platform
• Provide performance related marketing and competition analysis for project prioritization and long term company strategies

Requirements

• 5+ years of product management experience
• Demonstrated success of delivering software products to market
• The ability to communicate complex technical issues simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences
• The ability to drive complex projects across multiple teams and deliver the results
• Deep domain knowledge in at least one of the following: databases, query languages (SQL, MQL, etc.), advanced data analysis
• Ability to write, defend, and execute on business cases
• Ability to effectively represent the needs of developers across industries
• Self-starter who enjoys challenges across a broad range of disciplines
• Demonstrated success in leading a product that targets developers
• Demonstrated success as a product manager on a fast-paced, growing team
• B.Sc. in technical discipline, Computer Science preferred, or relevant experience

Nice to have

• Familiarity with open source and cloud technologies
• MBA, M.Sc. or Ph.D. in relevant domains

Success Measures

• In 3 months you will be fully versed in the MongoDB Data Platform and all of its component parts
• In 6 months you will understand and be able to clearly communicate the needs of the stakeholders you will be managing
• In 12 months you will be using that understanding to direct the engineering roadmap and ensure the successful release and use of new features by our customers
