Xero is a beautiful, easy-to-use platform that helps small businesses and their accounting and bookkeeping advisors grow and thrive.

At Xero, our purpose is to make life better for people in small business, their advisors, and communities around the world. This purpose sits at the centre of everything we do. We support our people to do the best work of their lives so that they can help small businesses succeed through better tools, information and connections. Because when they succeed they make a difference, and when millions of small businesses are making a difference, the world is a more beautiful place.

About the team you’ll join:

This role is a key leadership position within our Mobile Experience team, supporting the Xero Accounting App which exists to help small business owners manage their business on the go. You’ll be supported by engineering and design colleagues, to enable the mobile team to build seamless customer experiences across the different customer “jobs to be done” that you’ll have full ownership over.

About the role:

As a Senior Product Manager within the Mobile Experience team, your role will take end-to-end ownership of the product management process; from research and ideation, through to implementation and improvement over time.

We’re looking for somebody who’s comfortable with ambiguity and navigating a complex tech environment, with the goal to drive value and deliver outstanding results to Xero’s customers, internal teams, and everyone else involved!

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the development of networks across Xero to frame how products fit into Xero's strategy, objectives and future
  • Lead customer engagement activities to identify a wide range of customer problems; embedding these insights into decision-making to drive product roadmap and planning
  • Lead the development and execution of product roadmaps; managing products across the end-to-end lifecycle (launch through to sunset) to ensure maintenance and support throughout the life of the product
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and training of product practices to continuously improve and standardise the best way to do product at Xero; including training, coaching and upskilling team members
  • Work with other product teams to understand their products and objectives and help provide the appropriate support in the mobile app space

What you’ll bring:

  • You’ll come with a love for solving customer problems, ideally with previous experience in a similar role, working on Mobile strategy
  • You’ll look to the future with a keen eye for product strategy, with previous experience shaping successful product roadmaps and long term planning across complex products
  • You'll be an agile practitioner, with exposure to working in a software development environment
  • You’ll come with excellent stakeholder skills, an advocacy for collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups to realize customer & commercial outcomes

What we offer:

  • Employee Share Plan, alongside an additional 5 annual Leave days, PLUS bonus holiday Leave
  • Wellbeing leave, Parental and Partner Leave, Life Insurance and Private Health Insurance
  • Flexible working arrangements and weekly social events

Our collaborative and inclusive culture is one we’re immensely proud of. We know that a diverse workforce is a strength that enables businesses, including ours, to better understand and serve customers, attract top talent and innovate successfully. At Xero we embrace diversity and inclusion and value a #challenge mindset.

Research has shown that women and underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single competency or experience. If you are excited about this role, but your past experience doesn't align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway. You could be just the right person for this role and Xero. If you have any support or access requirements, we encourage you to advise us at time of application and throughout the interview process.

Xero is an NZ Immigration Accredited Employer and Rainbow Tick certified too.
