Your future team:
To help our teams work together effectively, this role requires you to be located in India. Your core team members are based either in Europe or in India. You will have senior leaders, stakeholders and other colleagues based in Sydney, Australia.

The Jira Platform powers our Jira products, including Jira Software as the number one tool for Agile Software Development, Jira Service Management, and Jira Work Management for helping knowledge workers plan, track and execute their work. Jira is a powerful, flexible, and configurable, offering a dynamic and exciting challenge for product managers to get their arms and minds around. The Jira platform is central to Atlassian's long-term strategy. You would build the strategy and plan for key foundations within the Jira Platform. These foundations will be instrumental in Atlassian unlocking new use cases for Jira and bringing Jira to even more teams around the world.
The Jira Query Language (JQL) Search team owns the JQL functionality and it powers almost every feature in Jira under the hood, and therefore, has a huge impact on the scalability, performance, reliability, and feature richness of all Jira Family products like Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Jira Product Discovery, and third party Atlassian Marketplace products.
The team is optimising the current solution to provide good customer experience and meanwhile building a new Elastic Search-based massively scalable JQL service as a future-proof solution to support our growing customer base in the Cloud. This is one of the major contributors towards our company goal of enabling Jira that can effortlessly scale to millions of users.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will define product strategy and roadmap for the teams working on JQL service that powers the Jira product family and third-party vendors. You will identify strategies to build a scalable search service and drive adoption with key experience teams.
What you will do
- Create and own the vision of your products, be responsible for the creation and execution of the roadmap and ensure it contributes to the company objectives
- Drive prioritisation and delivery of product functionalities in an agile environment
- Engage with product teams across the company to identify and deliver adoption of JQL service
- Collaborate with engineering, design, support, other product managers and data experts to define a compelling product roadmap that makes JQL a scalable and performant services to our customers
- Mentor junior product managers in your team
Your background
- 5+ years product management experience, working on mature products for enterprise customers
- Success with developing a high-level product strategy and roadmap and rallying a team deliver value to enterprise customers
- Strength in prioritising opportunities, balancing the needs of our customers with those of our business, and communicating the rationale behind your decisions, including to executive leadership
- Technical fluency to understand and deliver on complex, enterprise-level requirements
- Experience with building relationships and influencing without authority at all levels of the organisation
- Comfortable defining and tracking important business and success metrics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and customers.
- You are customer-centric and you enjoy working directly with design and engineering to ship delightful experiences.
It's great, but not required if you have
- Computer science or a related technical degree
- Experience working on complex platforms preferably in enterprise-focused areas (B2B)
- MBA degree or strong business acumen
