We use our deep understanding of consumer expectations to enrich the lives of millions of our users all over the world, bringing the music and audio they love to the devices, apps and platforms they use every day. Know what our users want? Join us and help Spotify give it to them.
Are you passionate about changing the way consumers engage with audio in the car? Are you eager for understanding technology and working around its limitations to challenge the status quo and bring the best Spotify experience to the car? Then this is the job for you!
Spotify is looking for an experienced product manager to join the team working on the Car Thing product. The car space provides a unique opportunity for innovation in how customers engage with audio. The multimodal interface is crafted to give users the freedom to access the full Spotify experience, comfortably engaging through a mix of voice, tactile, and touch controls depending on the task at hand.
We have ambitious plans and adapt quickly. In this role, you will be responsible for evolving parts of the product and its success as well as identifying new opportunities. You'll be working with other highly motivated product managers, engineers, designers, researchers and analysts. Collaborate with other teams at Spotify as well as some of the largest tech companies in the world as we push the boundaries on what is possible to do with technology. Your work will have a direct impact on the day-to-day of all our customers. We are expecting you to help grow our business and customer base of dedicated audio lovers and beyond!

What You’ll Do

  • Setting complex short and long-term strategies with far reaching impact for an entire product team.
  • Be responsible for successfully evolving your teams areas, in close collaboration with your engineering team, insights, design and product team, reporting to the product lead.
  • Take ownership of the full development cycle and with your team identify, define, plan, implement and follow-up initiatives towards shared objectives and roadmap prioritization.
  • Actively work to evolve your roadmap, identifying next steps and new opportunities based on takeaways, objectives and insights.
  • Partner with design to turn your objectives into experiences by engaging in the evolution of the UI.
  • Actively engage with the other PMs within the team to identify new opportunities, investigate feasibility, and synchronise and lead cross team initiatives on the product.
  • Partner with teams across Spotify to share and stay up to date on initiatives and direction that impacts our product.
  • Work with the insights team to ensure a strong shared understanding of the user behavior and context, quantitatively and qualitatively.
  • Define metrics and analyze product performance and translate into meaningful improvements with the highest user and business value.
  • Break down complex problems into steps that drive product development, working closely with other PMs in the team for prioritization to ensure the team of highly skilled engineers focuses on the most impactful work.
  • Drive implementation towards your team, engaging in standups, planning, and refinements sessions.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to help drive team momentum.
  • Drive feature refinement sessions towards a cross-functional team of insights, design, and engineering.
  • Ensure the squad understands the vision and strategy; collaborate with engineering to break down and prioritize the work into a backlog.

Who You Are

  • You have proven experience as a senior product manager, working with agile development teams building outstanding consumer products.
  • Experience in evolving products in the market.
  • Proven understanding of technical complexity to make the most impactful priority for cost versus benefit.
  • Able to distill complex information into easy-to-understand concepts and understand how to lead the team through ambiguity.
  • Excellent communicator, skilled at communicating with multiple partners.
  • Learn from your work and experiences.
  • Driven to get stuff done, but with a collaborative approach. You understand that we don’t win unless the team wins, and you leave ego out of it.
  • Know what makes a great user experience and love partnering with design, insights, and engineering to turn a vision into reality.
  • Engage with User Research, Consumer Insights, Customer support or Analytics to derive value from existing studies and articulate needs for new studies.
  • Have experience analyzing data and insights to understand and measure your work.
  • Can define success metrics for feature iteration and communicate your rationale clearly.
  • Bonus skills: Hardware, Voice UX, and Automotive experience.
