We started Marshmallow when we found out how unfair insurance prices are for people who move to the UK. All because the industry hasn’t given this huge cohort of people a second’s thought, and isn’t set up to price them properly.
We saw an opportunity to do things differently, so we made it our mission to back the ones who step outside the norm. Since we started, we’ve helped 100,000s of people get a fairer deal on their car insurance. Using technology, we serve people that are often overlooked by financial services companies, solving important problems for people who need it most.

Earlier this year we hit profitability, which is a huge milestone, but the most exciting thing is that we’re only just getting started.

That’s why we collaborate to do in-depth planning twice a year, and make sure we leave with clear goals and objectives that flow from top to bottom. To make sure we’re as aligned as possible across functions, most of our work rolls up into four tribes; Acquisition, Retention, Claims and Pricing, Underwriting & Fraud. Each tribe has multiple teams embedded in it, working cross-functionally to do great work.

We are looking for a Sr. Product Manager in Acquisition, to own the vision and strategy of the product suite within our tribe. This tribe is responsible for attracting new customers into the business, accounting for 75% of total turnover and growing 40% YOY.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead our Product Manager, but work within the cross functional tribe and closely with Engineering, Marketing, Product, Data and Design teams to understand user needs and to build excellent experiences to drive new customer growth
You will set the product vision and roadmap to enable rapid new business growth by capturing relevant traffic and then converting to sales withhighly performant sign up and checkout flows. This will mean being ultimately responsible for the delivery of conversion on the website.
You will partner the Head of Marketing to deliver significant growth in the Direct channel, by acquiring & converting traffic through Brand and performance media, Affiliates, Referrals and by building an effective SEO plan.
You will create a robust AB testing and optimisation plan to enable rapid iteration and learning

Customer obsessed - You are passionate about designing and building delightful user experiences that get the job done. You are experienced in identifying behavioural insight from qualitative research. You have the ability to balance business and customer needs
Problem solver - You have strong business, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. You creatively solve problems by identifying real obstacles and viable solutions.
A true collaborator - While we know you will have excellent ideas to put forwards, we value a collaborative approach to reach our goals and as such you should be willing and driven to get your team's input, tailoring your communication to technical and / or non-technical audiences
Product leader - You have the ability to think about the long term vision & strategy while also being detailed when necessary to support the team with execution
Outcome oriented - You ruthlessly prioritise against objectives, articulate the desired outcome and work collaboratively to create a path to achieve it
Entrepreneurial - You are self-motivated and proactive. You have a high tolerance for ambiguity, ability to perform under pressure to meet deadlines and willingness to take risks
5+ years experience in Product Management teams, delivering rapid growth in SAAS / DTC / Ecommerce businesses
Have proven experience in both driving and converting website traffic, with a true understanding of direct response principles.
General understanding of traffic driving channels including (but not limited to) SEO, performance marketing, CRM and how to optimise their KPI’s.
Bold - You have the confidence, and demonstrable ability, to solve problems using first principles and deep user understanding rather than competitor analysis
Structured problem finder - You break-down large problems into bite sized pieces that can be easily understood and tackled
Structured problem solver - You have an insatiable appetite to be part of a team that solves the most important problems it finds
Strong written & verbal communicator - You feel confident writing plans & vision documents to get stakeholder alignment, alongside verbal communication
Intrinsically motivated - You are motivated to improve as a feature of your character
Bonus: experience launching new products, experience starting a company, experience working in both start-ups and more established environments
We break it up into 4 stages:
Initial call with Luke Watts, our Tech talent lead (45 mins)
A behavioural interview with Sam Knott, VP Acquisition, where you will discuss your previous experience and help us understand how you work (1 hour)
A product challenge, where you will be asked to problem solve, with Faris Deshmukh, Group Product Manager and Georgia Kent-Braham, Head of Design (1 hour)
A cultural interview with Katie Valentine, Lead Researcher to check that your work style fits our processes and values (1 hour)
We’ll let you know if you’re invited to an interview or not. But, as a small team with a lot of applications to consider, we can’t give personal feedback on each application.
