Senior Product Manager (Flow Core Protocol)

As a Senior Product Manager for the core protocol team, you'll envision and execute a strategy for "Access Nodes" in the network. Access Nodes are special purpose nodes that act as a gateway to the decentralized Flow network, allowing all participants to discover, understand and interact with the protocol.

Access Node is the home of Flow Developers on the decentralized network, which is aimed at solving the issue of “data retrievability.” Data retrievability is the ability of nodes to retrieve historical information from the blockchain. A blockchain's history is made up of ancient blocks and receipts that store information about past events. A necessary step to layer 1 operation is that the Flow core protocol is not responsible for permanently maintaining all of the data that it comes to consensus on. The amount of data is simply too large to require this. Access Nodes solve this problem by providing access to historical on-chain data which is necessary for archiving & verification purposes. 

We have unique and tough challenges - As an append-only system blockchain storage will grow indefinitely:  How do we design incentive systems which reward users for storing historical data? How do we support an expansive blockchain P2P network that incentivizes participation for sharing historical data? How do developers index data for easy access in their applications? How do we change the storage data structure for building scalable & affordable archival nodes? 

This is a global role where you'll need to consider blockchain security, economic changes, cultural nuance, community sentiments and competitive environments. It's also an incredible leadership opportunity where you'll not only build products with engineering but also collaborate deeply with the blockchain community to have an impact on the entire blockchain ecosystem.

This could be via building an internal team, managing an external workforce, partnering with the ecosystem and external firms to handle key components, or some combination of all of the above.
