Senior Product Manager (FinTech Startup)

Hi 👋 - We're Ember - an app designed to liberate millions of business owners from the burden of dealing with accounting and tax by using technology to automate the process of managing their business finances and obligations.

Since launching in 2019 - we've built a product our user's love, achieved a clear product-market fit, raised a fresh round of funding and have become one of the fastest-growing start-ups in the UK today - with over 1,500 businesses running on Ember.

Over the next 18 months, we are uniquely positioned to take advantage of a HUGE scale opportunity where over 3.6 million business owners who don’t currently use any accounting or tax software will be required to do so by law. Yes, you did read that right.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager who’s excited to revolutionise a whole industry (accounting) to liberate millions of business owners from outdated and manual financial admin.

Responsibilities

• Setting the vision for our product(s), understanding how it connects to Ember’s long-term goals
• Defining, prioritising and communicating short-, mid- and long-term goals of the product by owning and maintaining a visible product roadmap
• Using data masterfully to understand what’s happening on the platform
• Combining quantitative research with qualitative user-centric techniques to discover the right problem to solve
• Delivering the right solution into users’ hands and validating that it was the right thing to have built. Widely communicating wins and learnings
• Effective stakeholder (e.g. Head of Growth) and dependency (e.g. cross-Squad) management

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building tech products that solve real and pressing problems in highly complex and regulated environments
• Proven ability to move the needle on core OKRs
• Proven ability to prioritise features based on deep user understanding
• A deeply analytical and experimental mindset. Proven ability to use data to inform and validate decisions.
• Ability to lead a team and build partnerships with other functions
• Experience working in fast-paced, agile teams, and preferably Startup environments
• A passion for building great products and processes, as well as challenging the status quo
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience building products for small business owners considered beneficial
• Experience working in FinTech is considered beneficial
