The product management opportunity

The Atlassian Editor is the common rich-text editor used in multiple Atlassian Cloud products such as the Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and more. It is used by more than 5 million monthly active users and still growing.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to run two of the teams in our Atlassian Editor group — specifically the Editor Platform teams. Your teams will be responsible for building and maintaining one of the most used, core platform components & services for rich-text editing in Atlassian’s products. Your teams will work closely with other Editor teams in Australia, as well as the other platform and product teams, to deliver an awesome editing experience across platforms on both web and mobile.

The Editor Platform is composed of two teams, both based out of India. The first team is focused on developer productivity, enabling our front end engineers to efficiently develop and deploy world-class frontend applications. The second team is focused on backend services that support our Atlassian Editor, including acting as the steward for our evolving Atlassian Document Format and delivering on enterprise requirements.

You will inspire and lead these two teams and help define the vision & strategy, and prioritise features and improvements. You will partner with engineering and design to form a triad to encourage and lead your teams to success.

You can set clear goals, make decisions, and communicate crisply to your team, to leaders across Atlassian, and to our customers & partners
You can map an organisation’s strategy directly to a team’s roadmap, and clearly ladder their results back into that strategy
You’re motivated by deeply understanding both our end-users as well as our “makers” — the people that either build our editor or build on top of it
You relish the challenge of translating deep technical challenges into business and customer value propositions
You’ve got charisma in spades — you’re social and adept at building relationships across product lines and functional groups to make sure everyone is aligned. Previous experience in cloud platform or infrastructure environments is a plus

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

Worked as a PM for a fast-paced tech company, ideally in a platform or infrastructure role
A passion for wading into the complicated day-to-day decisions to help your engineering team ship impactful capabilities
5+ years of prior product management experience
Strong track record of building relationships and influencing at all levels across the organisation
Have experience in managing products targeted towards developers
Have come to Product Management from a developer background
