Senior Product Manager - Ecosystem

The Senior Product Manager - Ecosystem Developer Platform provides strategic and commercial oversight across Xero’s third party developer experience; public API, developer tooling and next generation platform initiatives. We are building the tools and exposing the API functionality necessary for third parties to build innovation solutions on Xero’s platform. 

This role will be at the forefront of building a platform developers love, constantly striving to lower barriers to innovation, building the hard things so that developers don’t have to. There is a big opportunity to change the game in this space, double down on our platform strategy so that Xero can achieve it’s growth aspirations. • Deeply understand the relevant problem spaces and be the champion of the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ across the organisation, developing strong and productive relationships with diverse stakeholders to achieve a balance over conflicting needs and priorities.

• Bridge design, research, strategy, technical and business worlds as you foster strong and productive relationships with global stakeholders to deliver on market needs and priorities, and evangelise the product vision. 

• Have a clear understanding of Xero’s strategic priorities and how the portfolio of products / platforms / services in your stewardship align and contribute to it. Be a strong, pragmatic and articulate advocate for the required investment to make the vision of that contribution a reality.

• Be accountable for the ongoing operational and commercial success of the capabilities you co-create and/or are responsible for

• Ensure the roadmaps produced by Product Owners/Managers are data-informed, based on customer research, have clear commercial outcomes, objectives and KPIs, balance functional and nonfunctional work and are realistic.

• Ensure appropriate customer feedback loops and product discovery practices are in place to uncover customer needs and new product value propositions in line with the portfolio vision 

• Minimum five  years in product management using human-centred design tools and methodologies.

• Previous experience at Senior Manager level.

• Extensive experience managing large programmes of work across global teams.

• Demonstrated experience collaborating with a diverse stakeholder group to realise commercial outcomes.

• Solid track record of addressing customer needs through innovative use of technology.

• Proven ability to successfully motivate individuals and teams.

• Demonstrated experience in defining product roadmaps and long term planning.

• Experience in APIs, platforms and building capabilities at scale is advantageous
