Content Platform is the engine that powers Spotify’s massive catalog. We handle the critical work of ingesting, processing, and delivering music, podcasts, and audiobooks to hundreds of millions of users worldwide. Our mission is to ensure creators’ content reaches fans quickly, accurately, and at scale. As part of the Experience Mission, we build the systems that make content reliably available across every consumer surface. We partner closely with engineering, operations, labels, distributors, and R&D teams to make sure Spotify’s internal catalog is robust, scalable, and ready to power the listening experience.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Content Platform team. This role focuses on content supply — the critical first step in getting music, podcasts, and audiobooks onto Spotify. Our team builds and evolves the systems that ingest content and metadata from partners across the supply chain, process it at scale, and make it available in our internal catalog for teams across Spotify to power great listener experiences.
As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll shape how the world’s content makes its way onto Spotify and into the hands of millions of fans. You’ll work across multiple content types and verticals, with a strong emphasis on the music supply chain. We’re looking for someone who understands the complexity of that ecosystem and is excited to help us rethink and improve how content flows from creators to listeners.
What You'll Do
- Set the product vision and strategy for content ingestion systems that process millions of tracks, podcast episodes, and audiobooks.
- Lead strategy for how content flows from the global supply chain into Spotify’s internal catalog, with a strong focus on the music ecosystem.
- Partner with labels, distributors, and aggregators to improve ingestion reliability, metadata quality, and supply efficiency.
- Work closely with engineering to balance reliability, technical debt, scalability, and new feature development.
- Define clear success metrics for ingestion speed, accuracy, quality, and system health — and use data to guide investment decisions.
- Collaborate with R&D teams who depend on ingested content, as well as internal operations teams supporting content providers, to align priorities.
- Find opportunities to reduce ingestion time, improve metadata validation, and modernize supply chain integrations (e.g., DDEX standards).
- Communicate complex technical trade-offs and roadmap decisions clearly to partners across Product, Engineering, Business, and Operations.
Who You Are
- You have ideally 5+ years of product management experience, ideally working on platform, infrastructure, or backend systems.
- Deep understanding of the music industry supply chain, including hands-on experience with DDEX standards and metadata workflows.
- Experienced with APIs, data pipelines, distributed systems, or large-scale backend services.
- You care deeply about reliability and understand that content ingestion is critically important infrastructure.
- You have shipped products that scale to handle massive volumes and sophisticated operational dependencies.
- You know how to make principled trade-offs when faced with incomplete information and competing stakeholder needs.
- You thrive in highly technical environments and enjoy working closely with engineers on sophisticated system design challenges.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences and can align diverse partners around a common plan.
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and can turn loosely defined supply problems into structured product strategies.
Where You'll Be
- We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! For this role, you can be within the EMEA region as long as we have a work location (excluding France due to on-call restrictions).
- This team operates within the Central European and GMT time zone for collaboration.
