About the role:

Foursquare is looking for a Senior Product Manager, Consumer Apps to help re-imagine what the Foursquare mobile app experience looks like to users in 2022. After 12 years with millions of loyal app users, and with the world starting to come out of the global pandemic, now is the time to take a deep look at how Foursquare apps can continue to evolve on the promise of making the real world more discoverable and enjoyable with close friends and trusted influencers.

You’re constantly coming up with great new feature ideas and thinking critically about which of them will make the biggest impact. You love working in teams, side-by-side with the best engineers and designers. You easily manage several projects at once. You work great under pressure. You don’t miss deadlines.

There’s an omniscient smartphone in the pockets of billions of people around the world. You want to remind people that the real world is an exciting place where you can discover awesome places, get insider tips, keep up and meet up with close friends. You think you have what it takes to take the Foursquare app into the future?

Responsibilities of the role: 

  • Define the product vision, plans, and compelling enhancements based on consumer understanding, analytics, and growth potential.
  • Prioritize leaning on data ensuring that the most important features are prioritized.
  • Figure out what users want, build it as quickly as possible with our amazing engineers and designers, ship it smoothly, delight users, measure progress, grow the Foursquare app. Repeat!
  • Define metrics for success and failure. Analyze and create dashboards for key metrics.
  • Create and maintain a roadmap and engineering/design tickets that are 2-6 sprints ahead.
  • Execute your plan to maximize consumer and business value

Qualifications: 

  • Experience: 3-7 years of experience as a Product Manager at a consumer/mobile tech company
  • Mobile: you have a strong knowledge of iOS and Android, from implementation, privacy to UX patterns.
  • App release: you master the app release process on Google Play and iTunes, you know how to navigate reviewers' feedback and leverage console analytics.
  • Technical: you are comfortable working with engineering leadership to prioritize broadly while also working with engineers to understand the technical complexities of your product area.
  • UX: you are passionate about the user and solving problems through intuitive, simple user experiences. You have a strong eye for usability, accessibility, and interface design. You can create high-level wireframes to effectively express your ideas. You love the little big details.
  • Analytical: you’re detail-oriented and can construct a strong narrative using data to drive the decision-making process. You know when to kill features and ignore customer feedback.
  • Communication: you’re a strong communicator, both written and oral. You enjoy working with complex concepts and distilling them down so that anyone can understand them. 
  • Organizational skills: you can juggle multiple projects, effectively working with senior members of the team to prioritize and focus on the most impactful work.
  • Team player: you know how to work with all different types of personalities and can navigate tough conversations. You build consensus by default, but can drive hard decisions when you have to. You push the pace. You take blame and pass on praise. 
  • Adaptive: you are curious, optimistic, and a creative problem-solver. You embrace the unknown and are able to adapt to shifts in priorities. You look outside your day-to-day to ensure you are learning and growing.
  • Experimental: good grasp of experiment design, statistical analysis, and A/B testing.
  • Follow-through: you say what you’ll do, and do what you say. You don’t let details slip. 
  • Bonus: if you’ve worked on social, and/or local products in the past.
