About the team

Scribd’s Product Managers solve customer problems and find opportunities to deliver value to our millions of users. We collaborate across the organization to evolve the product, ensure the success of our business, and delight global users. This is the place for you if you’re a clear thinker & communicator who likes to take on big challenges, understand the nuance of user experience, and make data-informed decisions.

The product team is looking for a driven, innovative, and collaborative Senior Product Manager to be an advocate for users in creating and optimizing a high-quality web browsing and consumption experience.

In this critical role, you will help define our web product roadmap, and execute on high-profile initiatives with cross-functional partners.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who is comfortable using data to develop priorities and assess results, while also demonstrating a deep understanding of customer needs and wants, and staying on top of trends in the digital content consumption industry.

About you

  • You have the ability to set a strategy and vision to determine where we want to go in the future, and determine the immediate steps to get there. You view your role as a cross-functional partner. You understand that your work doesn’t stop after requirements are written, and you work with your team through execution.
  • You are a strong communicator and storyteller. You are able to present concepts and ideas to partners at all levels, in different shapes depending on the context.
  • You pair developed intuitions and “trusting your gut” with deep analytical thinking and a learning mindset, to focus on the things that matter most and build long-lasting products.
  • You know how to inspire, motivate and support a team to get things done.

You will

  • Enhance the experience users have as prospects and subscribers when they evaluate and consume content.
  • Explore opportunities around community features for reading (e.g. reviews, lists, book clubs).
  • Perform discovery on the end-user experience we want to build and activate, regarding browsing and engaging with authors and creators.
  • Work with a cross-functional team, to drive a product discovery for improvements to our web-to-app flow.
  • Prioritize new features based on user needs, alignment with the company’s short- and long-term goals, and technical platform scalability.
  • Write product briefs/requirements documents.
  • Manage the product backlog, quarterly plans, and be an active member of the day-to-day squad agile ceremonies.

You have

  • A drive to improve quality for users while achieving business goals
  • 3+ years experience in product management or system development
  • Comfort in the unknown, and you embrace ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with customer support teams and root cause analysis
  • Familiarity with both quantitative (e.g. AB testing and data analytics) and qualitative (e.g. user testing, card sorts, interviews) research methods
  • Experience in subscription business models (preferred)
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills (preferred)
