Bank reconciliation is vital to Xero’s continued success and plays a fundamental role in helping small businesses and their advisers understand cash flow.

Our mission is to help small businesses save time and improve cash flow transparency. We aim to give small businesses time back to focus on running their business, and enjoying their life, by automating the hard stuff and making administration easy. To empower small businesses to take control of their business by providing the information to help them make the right decisions about their business and cash flow management.

As Xero continues its journey of growth, you will deeply understand the needs and problems to solve when small businesses need to reconcile. In partnership with a cross-disciple team, you will develop a vision and strategy for a portfolio of products and services then execute on it, refining it as you learn. You will lead, coach and mentor a talented team. Your skilful leadership enables them, and their cross-functional teams, to deliver compelling products and services that solve real problems for our customers. This involves working across disciplines to ensure that we are giving the right priority to the right aspects of the Xero experience at the right time.

What you'll do:

  • Set the product vision and evangelise the work across our Product, Technology and Customer teams
  • Grow and develop the team to sustainably support this problem space 
  • Create outsized impact through defining, driving and executing the product roadmap that realise the vision and ensures the customer and business success 
  • Be a great communicator who can influence through building trusting relationships and thoughtful deliberation
  • Bridge UX, technical and customer worlds as you lead strong and productive relationships with stakeholders to deliver on key priorities
  • Identify success metrics and track product performance in line with team the product vision, strategy and objectives
  • Have a passion for representing Xero’s products
  • Cultivate a culture that embodies the Xero values and Product principles

What you'll bring with you:

  • A deep understanding of what is important to product teams and developers and how your teams can help enable that.
  • Proven experience championing strategic priorities and helping others relate to and align with these. Experience setting product vision and strategy.
  • Proven Product Ownership experience — with an extensive toolbox of modern product discovery practices to draw upon. Experience coaching Product Owners in them.
  • Proven experience using a range of metrics to monitor the success and health of products and services. Experience of making evidence-based decisions and a love for all things AI.
  • A solid track record of addressing customer needs. Experience connecting teams closer with customers (and not just be a proxy for them).
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills. Proven experience building meaningful, collaborative relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Proven experience advocating for/evangelising a product or service with customers and stakeholders. 
  • Experience leading and building high-performing product teams, fostering an open and collaborative environment.
  • Proven experience working with innovative software development projects at scale.
  • Deeply curious, empathetic, humble and have an owner’s mindset.
