As our Sr. Product Manager responsible for Authentication & Access Control, you’ll build products and introduce experiences that shape how we protect the work marketplace of the future, by ensuring account security and enabling effective access controls for both individual and enterprise customers.
You'll partner with investigators, analysts, policy, detection, and intelligence teams to prevent circumvention, build robust authentication and two-step verification flows that ensure strong security, while carefully avoiding impacting good users.You’ll also partner with Enterprise account managers, designers and cross-functional Product and Engineering teams to develop the architecture that large businesses need to be successful on Upwork.
Your Responsibilities:
Define the strategic vision for developing the infrastructure and product experiences needed to maintain strong account security while enabling Upwork's largest customers to continue to grow
Develop a prioritized product roadmap aimed at improving overall account security, and expanding SSO capabilities
Drive a multi-year roadmap focused on building robust tools & capabilities for Enterprise users
Deliver measurable results to protect our customers from account take-overs, while unlocking Enterprise growth through improved access controls that meet Enterprise needs.
What it takes to catch our eye:
At least 2 years prior experience as a product manager in a technical capacity, partnering trust & safety, B2B, risk management or Compliance teams
Experience working closely with investigators and/or account managers to ensure a healthy balance between solving for risks, while enabling healthy growth
Experience working effectively to lead large cross-functional teams in rolling out complex product flows with seamless user experiences
Experience working with Enterprise teams or customers to build solutions that enable growth and meet the unique needs of larger customers
A strong belief that you don’t need to sacrifice security in order to deliver exceptional customer experiences
Insatiable curiosity and an eye for anomalies and risks
Creativity and a desire to try out of the box solutions - and comfort abandoning those approaches quickly if they don't work.
An ability to transition seamlessly between highly quantitative areas and areas with no data and limited known information.
Flexibility to adapt to constantly evolving goals and priorities
