Senior Product Manager, AML Compliance

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager for the Marketplace Compliance team! This team's work is essential to Etsy’s global growth in the evolving ecommerce regulatory and trust landscape. Our mission is twofold: build products to ensure the Etsy marketplace aligns with legal and regulatory requirements for our worldwide community of buyers and sellers, and reduce risk to Etsy and to our members through user-facing compliance work.

As the senior product manager, you'll play a leadership role in crafting Etsy's Anti-Money Laundering Compliance long-term product strategy and vision. In addition, you will be responsible for leading prioritization and execution of the AML roadmap. You’ll work with a dedicated cross-functional squad that includes engineering, design, operations, research, and analytics.

Here’s a taste of some of the problems we'll be tackling in 2022!

1. Enhance seller identity verification and other programs critical to uncovering suspicious financial activity in order to keep our member community safe and protect Etsy.
2. Build tooling that empowers our team of investigators to efficiently investigate cases and make the right decisions.

This is a full time position reporting to the Director of Product. This person will be located in Brooklyn or we are considering remote candidates based in the US for this position. Etsy offers three different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team: Flex mode for candidates who are comfortable traveling to an office location 2+ times per week, Remote mode, and Office-based mode. About the role

• Lead product vision, strategy, development, and execution for the Compliance Product team focusing on AML.
• Synthesize and develop product strategy with business partners on Legal, Policy, and Trust & Safety teams.
• Work with design and engineering to deliver content compliance products that are effective, scalable, and easy to use for both external and internal users.
• Prioritize product features through continuous iteration, user research and analysis, and experimentation when appropriate.

About You

• 5+ years of product management experience.
• 3+ years building products in payments, AML compliance, identity management within a financial or e-commerce setting.
• Passionate about solving customer problems, both internal and external.
• Experience with using both qualitative and quantitative data to make product decisions. Knowing when and how to balance data with intuition.
• Committed to teamwork and clear, inclusive communication. Excellent collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to build relationships.
• A strong belief in Etsy’s vision, mission and values.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with third-party vendor integrations for AML.
• Experience working with commercial regulations, both within and outside of the US.
• Experience applying machine learning and/or computer vision solutions to content problems.
