Working at Atlassian
Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Assuming you have eligible working rights and a sufficient time zone overlap with your team, you can choose to work remotely or return to an office as they reopen (unless it’s necessary for your role to be performed in the office). Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
With a sufficient timezone overlap with the team, we're able to hire eligible candidates for this role from any location in Australia and New Zealand. If this sparks your interest, apply today and chat with our friendly Recruitment team.
Your future team
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Accessibility Product Manager to focus on the next evolution of Jira Platform. Jira Platform is part of our Cloud Platform team that enables Atlassian products to create ways to help all teams to come together, collaborate, and control their workflows. This team is the foundation for Jira Service Management, Jira Software, Jira Core, Jira Align, and any future Jira product.
Jira Platform offers the components, infrastructure, experiences, and best-practices for teams to design and ship high-quality apps. One of our top priorities is to make sure that all of Atlassian's user interfaces are accessible for people with disabilities.
What you'll do
- You will partner with engineers, designers and other product managers to evolve the Jira Platform front end experiences to provide digital Accessibility at scale.
- Co-create and roll-out the integration of Accessibility design principles throughout the software development lifecycle in Jira Platform.
- Work with Jira Platform cross-discipline leaders to propose, seek buy-in, and support for the Accessibility program of work.
- Initially you will work with your cross-functional team (content design, product design and engineers) to eliminate critical accessibility issues in Jira Platform experiences. At a later stage, your will move onto providing the design guidance to Jira product teams that need to work on the full range of accessibility issues.
Your background
- Proven experience as a seniorproduct management experience, ideally at an Enterprise Cloud software company
- Experience and passion for great user experience design and creativity in problem solving, ideally with an understanding of digital accessibility on web platforms and experiences
- Analytical abilities to qualitatively and quantitatively understand complex challenges, gather meaningful insights and share the results.
- Technical knowledge and ability to learn complex, technical topics quickly and explain them simply. You are a valued contributor to implementation decisions and help development teams make the right call.
It's great, but not required, if you have:
- Experience in the fields of collaboration and enterprise software (SAAS)
- BE/BS/BA with an emphasis in Technology, IT, Design, or Operations
- Experience driving development of Accessibility in shared UI components
- Knowledge of industry standards such as WCAG, etc.
