Senior Product Designer

Who are we?

Our team is the first in the world to use autonomous vehicles on public roads using end-to-end deep learning. With our multi-national world-class technical team, we’re building things differently. 

We don’t think it’s scalable to tell an algorithm how to drive through hand-coded rules and expensive HD maps. Instead, we believe that machine learning algorithms learning from experience and data will allow our driver to be more intelligent and capable of easily adapting to new environments.

Our aim is to be the future of self-driving cars: the first to deploy in 100 cities across the world bringing autonomy to everyone, everywhere.

The impact you will have

We are looking for our first product designer to seed the design function at Wayve. This role will be taking on end-to-end ownership of the UX design principles and processes to take Wayve’s internal development platform to the next level of scale and productivity.

We’re looking for bold, talented and creative people to join our journey in developing next-generation autonomous vehicles.

In line with our vision, we need to design and build the tools to accelerate our AI & robotics engineers to experiment and learn faster. That’s where you come in! 

Challenges you will own: 

As the first designer, you will be helping our engineering and product teams build applications for our internal AI research platform, in-vehicle interface and fleet management platforms.

You will help us to accelerate our learning loops, so that we can run experiments and iterate faster with higher quality, both on-road and in simulation.

What you will bring

Essential - 

• Experience using Figma (or similar prototyping tools)
• Outstanding UX ability, visual design and product thinking for complex data-driven apps, for a highly technical audience.
• Experience applying research, usability tests, and metrics to inform design decisions
• Experience partnering with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and provide creative, thoughtful solutions.
• Excellent communication skills

Desirable - 

• Some experience in software engineering or UI development is a bonus
• Domain experience in robotics or AI
