Senior Product Designer

As Senior Product Designer you will be working in SumUp’s POS Lite Team. POS Lite is our free point of sale in the SumUp app that comes pre-installed on our proprietary register hardware, or it can be installed on tablet & phone devices. The team’s mission is to put SumUp at the heart of the store, by placing our Point of Sale on the counter of small merchants to facilitate in-store operations, and bring them closer to their customers. Our products are used by millions of independent small business owners (such as cafes, shops, bars, hair salons) around the world, and help them start, run, and grow their businesses. 

As part of the SumUp Design community, you will work with our Design System, applying and adapting it to the new product needs. The ideal candidate has experience with different front end tools, designing interactive experiences,  and is comfortable working closely with engineers to implement solutions. 

Requirements

• You have 7+ years of experience as a UX & UI Designer, with deep expertise in UX and strong skills in UI. 
• You have some experience with data visualisation.
• You have designed and shipped complex mobile applications across the entire product development cycle.
• You execute across all phases of design work: lead research, define conceptual foundation for design solutions, execute effective UX flows, apply visual design systems, prototype using a variety of tools and methods, create production ready designs, independently perform usability testing, and work directly within a team of mobile developers to ensure the designs are implemented effectively.
• You work independently on a complex set of features, collaborate with product management and engineering to arrive at optimal solutions, and coordinate across teams to create a holistic merchant experience.
• You proactively engage with your design chapter and peers to get feedback and optimise the end-2-end customer journey.
• You contribute best-of-class design components and UX patterns to the global design system and commit to upholding the highest standards and a shared vision.
• Your excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills will help you communicate the value of design and design rationale across the whole company.
• You have experience in working in an agile environment and the ability to adapt quickly to changing product priorities.
