About Sentry

Bad software is everywhere, and we’re tired of it. Sentry is on a mission to help developers write better software faster, so we can get back to enjoying technology.

With more than $217 million in funding and 85,000 organizations that believe we’re on to something, we're building performance and error monitoring tools that help companies like Disney, Microsoft, and Atlassian spend less time fixing bugs and more time building products. If you like to selfishly build things that make your digital life better, come help us build the next generation of software monitoring tools.

About the role

As a Senior Product Designer on Sentry's enterprise team you will be solving the problems that face our largest customers. You will collaborate and co-lead a cross-functional team of peers consisting of Product Managers, Engineering Managers and Engineers. Your primary focus will be on usability and scalability of the Sentry product for customers sending millions upon millions of events.

We take design seriously at Sentry, so much so that our co-founder happens to be a Designer. We are currently a small team of designers from previous gigs like PagerDuty, Gusto, Square and Github. The team has a wide range of experience level and we collaborate weekly on design problems and to chill.

In this role you will

  • Have a huge impact by designing core product experiences that will propel Sentry into new categories
  • Co-lead a team with Product Managers and Engineering Managers
  • Be instrumental in creating a consistent look and feel throughout our products
  • Help define systems to enable our design and frontend teams to be more efficient and collaborative
  • Want to contribute to the team roadmap for the quarterly and yearly goals
  • Contribute to our component library and design documentation

You’ll love this job if you

  • Solve complex problems
  • Manage complex projects mostly autonomously
  • Deliver impactful solutions that solve customer problems and move business metrics
  • Love turning ideas into reality at a bristling rate, like the ideology of fail-fast
  • Get excited by using your design skills to drive business impact. You care more about outcomes vs output
  • Often find yourself contemplating many different variations of user experiences and validate those through experimentation
  • Make the lives of engineers and/or your fellow designers easier
  • Respect the value of design constraints but enjoy pushing their limits
  • Have passion about open source and wouldn't mind more green boxes on your contribution graph

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product design experience, or a portfolio that can trick us into believing so (a link to a portfolio or relevant work is required)
  • You understand and care deeply about user personas like IT decision makers, Engineers, Engineering Managers and their unique needs
  • Frontend experience with HTML/CSS and an understanding of how to design for the web
  • Basic understanding of the developer
  • Impeccable taste and knack for attention to detail
  • Experience with conducting user interviews and parsing results
  • Experience with Figma, Framer, or other modern design tools
  • Experience with reducing complex concepts into approachable workflows
  • You've designed and built tools apart of small teams in the past
  • You are familiar with the developer process and workflow, and what annoys them
  • Struggle with identifying as an Engineer or a Designer on your LinkedIn profile
