Within the Merchant Design team we focus on creating customer-centric experiences that help local businesses operate successfully on DoorDash and beyond. The Selection team leads the way by bringing merchants onto our platform, working to ensure we onboard and activate them effectively, and helping them receive their first orders as quickly as possible.

About the Role

As Senior Product Designer on the Merchant Selection team you’ll be responsible for helping merchants onboard quickly and seamlessly, no matter the products or services they sign up for. As part of this strategy you’ll help shape a unified experience that stretches across the business, impacting both internal and external customers. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team of product managers, developers, business partners, researchers, content strategists, and more to deliver world class experiences that solve complex problems in simple, elegant ways.

• Own the user experience of products end-to-end, including contributing to product strategy, running design sprints, and crafting visions
• Explore complex, ambiguous problem spaces, working with your cross-functional team to understand the opportunity, and then chart a path forward
• Push the creative boundaries of our merchant experiences with your design explorations through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual design
• Help merchants grow their businesses and improve the lives of millions of DoorDash customers every day
• Design and ship high quality product experiences

• You have 5+ years of work experience
• You thrive in ambiguous environments, and bring clarity to your teams through your mastery of the design process
• You are a strong communicator and facilitator who enjoys collaborating across lots of different functions
• You’re a systems-thinker who translates complexity into intuitive experiences and considers every facet of the user journey
• You skilfully balance strategy, research, interaction design, and visual design to achieve simple and elegant solutions
• You value high quality well crafted visual design, and care about the details
• You are self-aware, curious, and humble.
• Prior design experience in local, commerce, and logistics industry is a big plus
