Early last year we closed on our Series E, raising $240 million, and have offices in California, Texas, and New York as well as many remote opportunities. Our growth includes recent acquisitions of Great Jones (full-service property management),  Stessa (financial management software) to empower customers with a seamless way to acquire, manage, and track their investment properties on one platform, Rent Prep (tenant screening and placement service for landlords), and Mynd (property management platform for both Retail and Institutional investors).

About the role:

You will be joining a small but mighty design team, with the opportunity to have real impact not only in your product area, but within the broader Design Team as well. In this role, you will absorb complex problems and unpack the needs of a wide range of users (home owners, residents, and field teams), then collaborate cross-functionally to shape an experience that is simple and delightful. The experiences you help create will blend digital experiences with operator provided support, and you’ll do this with the backing  of our experienced product managers, data analysts, engineers, and of course the rest of the design team. You should be excited to move quickly and make a broad, meaningful mark on the evolution of our product suite and customer experience.

Responsibilities: What you'll do

• Partner with your peers across product, marketing, and engineering to design digital experiences and UI components that are engaging and delightful

• Turn challenging workflows and unstructured tasks into consistent, measurable, and elegant experiences
• Use research, analytics, and user feedback to gain a deep understanding of user needs and improve the experience for everyone using our platform and apps
• Conduct usability testing and user research with internal operators, investors, residents, applicants and vendors to iterate and refine designs
• Work in Figma to design and prototype new features, flows, and net-new products and services
• Develop high-fidelity visual designs, including UI components, iconography, and other visual elements
• Advocate for great UX, inspiring your teams with a strong point of view about what’s possible and aspirational for your product areas as well as Roofstock as a whole
• Leverage and contribute to our Design System to ensure consistency across platforms and touchpoints
• Stay in close communication with Product Managers, Engineers and business partners to ensure all features are implemented to specifications and iterate accordingly
• Participate in internal design critiques and present your work to stakeholders at all levels

Qualifications: What'll get your foot in the door

• Proven experience as a Product Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing elegant solutions to complex problems ( 6+ years of experience) with a focus on service design
• Mastery of Figma, including using and contributing to design systems 
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions to teammates and stakeholders at all levels
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
• A willingness to spend time “on the ground” in our markets, developing empathy and building strong relationships within our user bases
• Skilled in strategic partnership with the ability to help identify opportunities, refine problems and solutions, and help the team deliver great customer experiences
• Past experience with real estate technology is a plus

Nice to haves:

• Experience using Jira and Notion to manage products
• Interest or experience in motion design and illustration

Location

This position is classified as remote, but our ideal candidate would reside in either Eastern or Pacific Time Zone. 

Compensation

$146,000 - $198,000 annual base salary. The compensation range may be adjusted based on experience and location.
