Senior Product Designer - Platform

As a Senior Product Designer in SumUp’s Platform Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the tools, systems, and frameworks that impact thousands of SumUppers in their daily work. You will craft scalable and intuitive in-house products that serve our Sales, Operations and Product & Engineering teams to serve seamless experiences for millions of merchants worldwide. With a strong systems-thinking mindset, you will influence platform-wide patterns, streamline workflows, and advocate for user-centric design, while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and cross-functional alignment.

Platform teams focus on improving efficiency and delivery for internal personas, our purpose strives to ensure that our end-customers and users have an overall reliable and performant experience using SumUp products. The main focus of our tools are internal, but the journey extends to our customer-facing features, from how we present offers to new merchants in our sales-led flows, to our Developer Portal that shows integrators how to use our services.

You'll be great for this  if

• You have deep knowledge of UX/UI best practices, accessibility, and responsive design principles
• You’re proficient in common design and prototyping tools and services (we mainly use Figma)
• You can demonstrate executing across all phases of design work: participating in research and discovery, defining conceptual foundations for design solutions, prototyping through to production-ready designs, and participating or conducting usability testing.
• You’re able to translate complex technical problems into intuitive and user-friendly designs, with strong storytelling skills to communicate design rationale and decisions effectively.
• You have experience collaborating with engineering, product, research, and other design teams, and proactively engage with design peers for critique sessions.
• Your design process follows a human-centered approach and you apply both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to validate your solutions
