Senior Product Designer, Orders

As a user-centered product designer on the Orders team, you will work on the end-to-end product design for Order manager and work on features that empower small and medium-sized businesses and the people behind them. In this cross-functional role, you will work with engineers, product managers, UX Researchers, and other partners across Square on core features and experimental projects. You'll be directly responsible for decisions that influence the product and roadmap. This visible role provides an opportunity to oversee a piece of Square's omnichannel commerce ecosystem. 

You will report to a Design Director and work with a team of two other Product Designers.

You will:

• Lead design for one of our main product areas, and work with product managers and engineers to establish its long-term strategy and short-term tactical work

• Work with UX researchers, product managers, and engineers to iterate on new features and user journeys

• Think holistically about complex systems, empathize with users, and understand goals to create compelling user experiences

• Conceptualize designs, from wireframes, visual mockups to prototypes

• Influence design practices and team operations within a fully remote team

• Provide feedback and mentorship to other designers

The must-have shortlist:

• 7+ years of professional design experience

• A portfolio that reflects your strengths in both UX and visual design skills, including multiple shipped projects on which you were the primary designer

• Communication pro, who can present compelling design rationales to team members and other partners

• You think holistically about complex systems, empathize with users, and understand goals to create compelling user experiences.

• You guide the vision for the product and achieve it through design explorations, documentation, and presentations.
