Senior Product Designer

We're dedicated to helping people connect and stay close with the people, groups, and communities they care about. At Geneva, we're building a better group chat app to support these relationships: more organized and feature-rich than GroupMe or iMessage, more private than Facebook Groups, and more fun than Slack.

Now, we’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team and help us create more world-class experiences for our users. 

About You

For this role, we're looking for a Senior Product Designer with at least 5 years of experience as a Product Designer in a fast-paced tech, agency, or media company. We'd be especially excited to hear from you if you have significant experience working on consumer tech products.  

• This is not your first product design rodeo. You have years of experience that have helped develop your high standard of creativity, craft, and quality. You've been on teams where shipping high quality, consumer-facing experiences at a high velocity was the norm, and you're driven by a bias toward action.
• You're passionate about the process of creating delightful experiences at scale. From hypothesis to execution, you use established product design methodologies to make decisions, arrive at the best answers, and share your vision with the team.
• You have a high technical aptitude, and are excited to work directly with engineers to evaluate design solutions and provide guidance.
• You're a great communicator with a strong track record of sharing your rationale and getting buy-in from teammates and stakeholders.
• You thrive in collaborative situations and have high emotional intelligence. You know teams who work well together get the best results, and you enjoy contributing to a positive team environment. 
• You love building consumer-facing products and genuinely care about making an impact for good.
• You're comfortable working remotely, and confident managing your own design projects autonomously.

About the Role

We pride ourselves in bringing creative solutions into the community space, and helping our users create meaningful connections through Geneva. Our product designers get to take features and experiences all the way from ideation to production. This includes vision setting, designing solutions, prototyping, bringing along cross-functional teams, guiding implementation, and collaborating with the larger team.

In the day to day, you will: 

• Spend most of your time working hands-on with product and engineering teams to find elegant and delightful solutions to design challenges and business opportunities. 
• Own design projects from concept through launch. You'll explore complex problem spaces, set the vision for user experience, come up with and validate solutions, and evolve experiences to be as successful and impactful as possible. 
• Be responsible for produce high quality designs and experiences, knowing when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes.
• Be the voice of our users. You'll deeply understand the market, emerging trends, our users' behaviors, and our data, and use this to inform hypotheses and design experiments. 
• Be responsible for the design strategy, and be accountable to the results of your design solutions. You'll use design thinking methodologies to run design sprints and validate solutions at every stage of the process.
• Work closely with product managers to understand and define feature success.
• Work closely with product engineers to continue to refine design-to-dev processes.
• Own design patterns and systems for for web and desktop applications.

💰 Competitive, data-backed compensation. We pay based on the same data-backed salary framework, wherever you live. For this role, we've budgeted $150,000-$180,000 USD + equity, based on experience and level.
