SoundCloud empowers artists and fans to connect and share through music. Founded in 2007, SoundCloud is an artist-first platform empowering artists to build and grow their careers by providing them with the most progressive tools, services, and resources. With over 400+ million tracks from 40 million artists, the future of music is SoundCloud.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join the Fan Monetization team. This role sits at the intersection of listener and creator experiences, helping artists earn beyond streaming and designing features that encourage fans to support them in meaningful ways.
You’ll be crafting products that are emotionally resonant, visually sharp, and intuitive to use. We’re looking for someone with strong visual and interaction design skills, who’s comfortable exploring multiple design directions and knows how to turn ideas into clear, user-friendly experiences.
You’ll work closely with our UX research team from early discovery through delivery. We care deeply about design and research working side by side and equally about designers who enjoy bouncing ideas with engineers early in the process, not just handing off work at the end.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design fan monetization experiences across both the artist and listener side of the product
- Collaborate deeply with UX research, treating them as thought partners throughout the design process
- Create multiple design concepts and variations, balancing speed with craft
- Uphold high standards of visual quality, including strong typography, layout, and hierarchy
- Work closely with PMs, engineers, and occasionally marketing to ensure alignment and smooth execution
- Iterate based on feedback, research insights, and data without losing sight of usability and the bigger picture
- Help push our product toward bold, expressive design that resonates with music fans and creators
- Advocate for design quality and consistency while remaining flexible and pragmatic
Why This Role Matters
Fan Monetization is one of our most important areas of focus. The features you design will shape how millions of users experience and support music, and how creators can build sustainable careers. Your work will have a real cultural and emotional impact.
Experience and Background:
- 5+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showing visual excellence and UX / Design thinking
- Strong visual and UX design skills, with a focus on interface clarity, hierarchy, and usability
- Experience designing user flows and interfaces that drive emotional connection and action
- Someone who enjoys exploring different directions, iterating fast, and polishing details
- Able to communicate design decisions clearly and work closely with cross-functional partners
- Collaborative mindset and genuine excitement about working closely with researchers and developers
- Comfortable working with design systems but not afraid to create new patterns when needed
