We're hiring for a Senior Product Designer, reporting to Design Manager for Team Expansion within Product Growth. A cross-product team that focuses on growth for the Atlassian product suite. This teams mission is in the seams, how we connect the value of Atlassian products, and promote how users collaborate with each other. Through research & insight (Qual and Quant), we understand that collaboration is a journey that spans workflows inside and outside of our Ecosystem. Product Growth have teams structured around that journey. Off-Atlassian, we are looking to understand how our products help to empower teams in the tools they spend the majority of their time. On-Atlassian, we are looking to understand how we can turbo charge workflows and support teams working together.
What you'll do
- Work with product managers, engineering and other team members to define product strategy and advocate for the user experience in our products.
- Define collaborative experience solutions for how customers collaborate with their own team.
- Share work and collaborate openly with other designers in Team Expansion, Product Growth and Atlassian.
- Be a credible storyteller. You'll also need facilitation and collaboration abilities, ability to work with teams across the company, and the attitude to always work toward the best outcomes.
- Facilitate workshops with engineers and product managers to establish project scope and potential solutions to the identified problems in the most effective way.
- Help your team conduct exploratory user research usability tests.
- Influence and shape how we we go about our work, ship product and guide the product roadmap.
Your background
- Have 5+ years of hands-on professional experience as a UX Designer or Product Designer. Even better: you've got experience with SaaS, or complex enterprise applications. Have experience delivering outcomes as a hands-on Product designer. Examples of planning, and then driving product direction autonomously are important.
- Be capable with research. While we don't expect you to be a researcher, an understanding of the techniques required to develop customer empathy, and validate concepts are an important part of the role.
- Have a high degree of influence with all kinds of internal partners including senior leadership.
- Collaborate with other departments, including engineering and product.
- Hands on experience synthesising Qual and Quant insights.
- Demonstrate an understanding of framing problems and be able to talk to the frameworks you use to support this.
- Importantly, you have outstanding executional skills too, and are adept in modern tools such as Figma, Mural, Miro, Invision, Zeplin, Adobe CC, & Keynote.
It would be beneficial if you:
- Have experience with SaaS, or complex enterprise applications. Have first-hand experience in a Growth team or metric driven organization.
- Can demonstrate how you lead & inspire others. You have experience and can show examples of when you gained support from peers, partners and executives across a business to influence a result.
- Experience working with Content Strategy an advantage.
- Any experience in service design principles, such as customer journey mapping a unique advantage.
- Gained experience working on products in an experimental environment (eCommerce, Retail or Travel is a big plus).
