The Design Systems team plays an essential role in our mission by ensuring the product is intuitive and efficient, helping free up smart people to work on hard problems for their organizations. The user experience is vital to building trust with our customers so they can feel confident that important aspects of their business run without fail for their employees. 

We’re looking for an experienced Design Systems designer who is passionate about helping businesses, and their employees, succeed in their missions by helping them run more effectively. As a design systems designer, you’re responsible for creating components and processes that enable teams to create experiences that solve real everyday problems for employees. Your work will enable our teams to move quickly and at great scale, while maintaining our high-quality bar.

What You'll Do: 

• Become an authority on Rippling’s design language, setting standards for our design system and how systems thinking is embedded within Rippling’s design practice.
• Lead the design of high-impact patterns, component redesigns, and cross-cutting features of our design system.
• Create and validate design decisions through sketches, prototypes, and user testing.
• Provide regular design feedback to other designers and engineers on implementing and contributing to our design system, and solicit feedback from them to ensure we’re addressing product needs.
• Work closely with engineers to ensure the designs are implemented effectively and iterate to refine and respond to customer feedback.
• Partner with select teams on developing new features and sharing expertise as projects move from conception to launch to grow the project teams' systems thinking practices.
• Partner with product management to shape and develop roadmaps for new initiatives in collaboration with product design leadership and engineering.
• Own component design from inception to delivery, including engineering collaboration, rollout plans, usability testing, usage guidelines, and figma components.
• Advocate and educate on the design system through documentation, training materials, and onboarding.
• Effectively manage your time and process to meet team deadlines.

Qualifications:

• 6–8 years of experience as a design system or product designer at a digital product company, contributing to or leading the design and visual execution of product experiences. At least 2 years of design systems experience are required.
• B.A/B.S. in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field/equivalent experience.
• An outstanding portfolio showcasing a depth of knowledge in user experience, interaction, and visual/user interface design.
• Experience shipping and documenting high-quality component libraries.
• Experience partnering with Product Managers, Engineers, and Product Designers to execute on component deliverables.
• Experience with prototyping as a means to explore and convey design solutions.
