Senior Product Designer job at Peloton

ABOUT THE ROLE

Peloton is seeking a Senior Product Designer, Design Systems to help create and maintain a comprehensive design system for our Digital Apps (iOS, Android, TV, web, and wearables).

The Senior Product Designer, Design Systems role will partner closely with product designers to build, review, and maintain local component libraries, develop style guidelines and documentation, ensure adoption of processes to create new or add variations to existing components, partner with developers to set up and maintain foundations of the Digital Apps design system in code. This role will also work in collaboration with the central design systems team to drive alignment of the Digital App on the central design systems team to ensure that designs stay in sync with the entire Peloton software ecosystem.

Successful candidates are self-motivated, strategic, highly collaborative, incredibly detail-oriented, and proactive project owners. They should be able to use Figma at an expert level and be excited to share their knowledge with other product designers.

This role has a hybrid work policy with 3-days a week at Peloton New York Headquarters.

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

Develop and maintain a design system that supports the needs of our product design initiatives, including documented guidelines for typography, color, layout, components, and interaction design.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers and brand stakeholders, to ensure the design system aligns with our product vision, enhances the user experience, and creates efficiencies for design and development.
Work with designers and developers to ensure the design system is implemented correctly and consistently across all Digital Apps platforms.
Establish processes for maintaining and updating the design system as products and technologies evolve.
Align with other design systems partners to drive strategy for scaling Design Systems efforts across Peloton.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in design systems and user interface design.

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

5+ years of experience as a product designer, with some focus on creating and maintaining design systems for mobile applications.
Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in designing and implementing design systems for large-scale products.
Experience creating and maintaining design libraries and well-documented style guides
Deep understanding of design systems, interaction patterns, and limitations of cross functional platforms - specifically Android, iOS, and fully responsive web apps.
Experience designing for a variety of screen sizes and platforms: for iOS and Android and web apps.
Absolute proficiency using Figma and creating optimized components in Figma.
Deep understanding of design principles, user experience, and interaction design.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers and developers.
Exceptional design velocity: ability and willingness to quickly produce multiple concepts.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate design decisions and concepts to stakeholders.
Systematic approach to product design, ensuring a unified experience across the board.
Highly attentive to detail and ability to conceptualize multi-state, multi-path interaction systems and to consistently capture edge-cases.

Designed experiences on wearable devices such as the Apple Watch and Wear OS
Designed experiences on larger touch screens and/or TV interfaces.
Experience in prototyping UI interactivity and in incorporating motion/animation into UI.

Base Salary: $172,100.00 to $223,800.00

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
