Senior Product Designer, Design Platform (Remote)

The Design Platform team is looking for an experienced product designer to help mature Squarespace’s design system, processes, and programs. You will be challenged to help evolve our system and its adoption across our platform. We’re the connective thread that enables product teams to efficiently design and build a user experience and interface across our platform by providing: components, guidance, support, and tooling.

You'll work with designers, engineers and content strategists on the Design Platform team, and collaborate with the wider Product Design team to refine the Squarespace design language, and evolve the future of our products. You’re familiar and comfortable with the challenges of working with design systems and inspire quality and craft across our platform.

You'll report to the Product Design Lead, Design Platform. We are open to this role being remote.

You’ll get to

• Guide the continued evolution of Squarespace’s design language and user experience
• Work with developers and content strategists to maintain, evolve, and create components and patterns for our library
• Consistently and proactively advocate for the design system, and understand the cases where it can evolve
• Identify, align, and establish shared user experience patterns across different platform features
• Be a champion for platform cohesion, helping all of our product design organization speak in one unified voice
• Closely partner with and influence other design leaders in the organization to drive impactful changes to align our platform experience
• Build consensus and collaboration with opinions backed by research and data
• Ensure our work scales and flexes across a variety of global audiences, abilities, devices, and platforms

Who we’re looking for

• You have 6+ years of Product Design experience developing user experiences and interface design
• You’ve helped build, evolve, or maintain a design system in a growing organization
• You understand product ecosystems, and can develop complex artifacts and systems
• You enjoy tackling ambiguous problems and creating clarity through context and research
• You are expert at navigating technical complexity and collaborating productively with engineers
• You are a proactive, clear communicator and have experience facilitating workshops or other collaborative environments
• You’re able to identify opportunities for product areas to be more cohesive and proactively drive progress towards those opportunities
• You are driven to investigate deep and wide for opportunities to improve the product
• You can navigate a growing organization to help clarify and build consensus amongst multiple stakeholders

A portfolio of relevant design work is required for consideration. It should illustrate your involvement and how you contributed to solving specific problems.
