Senior Product Designer, Creator Tools

The Senior Product Designer, Creator Tools is responsible for designing tools and workflows that our Creators use to make Roblox Experiences with our game engine. Specifically, you will focus on designing tools in Roblox Studio to create and edit 3d geometry, simulations, lighting, and materials. You will also consider how the APIs underlying these tools can be used by Creators to make imaginative and fun Experiences for our Users (aka Players) – things like flying planes with aerodynamics or rafting down a river, you name it! This role contributes to a critical piece of Roblox's overall strategy by increasing the immersion and visual fidelity of Experiences on the platform.

You will work strategically with your Product and Engineering partners on the long-term vision; one that makes utilizing our core engine capabilities simple and delightful, while offering power and control to those who need it. You will break down the vision into short-term incremental projects that continuously deliver new and improved capabilities to our Creator community. You will possess a special knack for translating technical capabilities into intuitive and easy authoring workflows.

You will:

• Design cohesive user-centered tools to create immersive 3D environments
• Be a systems-level design thinker, driving designs from principles
• Be an excellent craftsperson with a keen eye for all manner of design details from typography & visual hierarchy to micro interactions
• Convey your designs through crystal clear communication in verbal, written, and visual forms
• Prototype with low-fidelity methods, like sketching and wireframes, and high-fidelity methods, like polished UX walkthroughs
• Be a learner, going deep to understand the game engine underpinnings
• Drive design rationale from user needs and have a basic understanding user research methodologies
• Contribute your energy, enthusiasm, and expertise to foster an inclusive and supportive design culture
• You will report to the Senior Product Design Manager

You have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Product Design or related field
• 5+ years in developer tools, user-generated content tools, or a related design field
• Experience shipping product on cross-functional teams that consist of Product Managers, Engineers, User Researchers, and Data Scientists
