ABOUT THE TEAM...
At Netflix, we aspire to entertain the world and are constantly innovating on how entertainment is imagined, created, and delivered to a global audience. We currently stream content in more than 30 languages in 190 countries, topping over 220 million paid members.

The Globalization Tech team’s mission is to make experiencing Netflix feel immersive and meaningful, no matter what language you speak. To achieve this, our team creates localization and operational software used by Netflix internal employees and a multitude of vendors around the world. As the product designer on this team, you will need to utilize many dimensions of the product design craft - design strategy, interaction design, and service design.

You will also be joining as a member of the Enterprise organization, where individual contributors operate as leaders of their cross-functional squads but work collectively across the org to create connected experiences. Our roles require both autonomy and self-direction within each person’s purview but also a company-wide, strategic mindset that ensures your work contributes to the overall success of the business. This will be a remote-friendly role, with the freedom to set a flexible work-from-home schedule.  This role would be best for candidates located in California or in the Pacific time zone, as monthly in-person travel will be required to collaborate with stakeholders and partners in Los Angeles, CA and Los Gatos, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES…
Lead the design process of intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for our subtitling and dubbing tools (what we call “content localization”).
Identify, research, and drive strategic initiatives that improve global content quality for our members.
Prototype new features, and continually improve existing ones, to optimize global vendor localization workflows.
Conduct user research and usability studies to gather data that will inform design decisions.
Communicate design strategy, frameworks, and prototypes effectively to developers and stakeholders.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, data scientists, tech writers, and business teams to develop and iterate upon new concepts and facilitate product execution.
Advocate for the users within the organization and foster a culture of user-centric design.

ABOUT YOU…
A passionate energy for great design and amplifying our team culture.
8+ years as a Product Designer (or equivalent experience) in the B2B2C space, leading high-impact initiatives from concept to execution in technical business areas.
A broad portfolio that showcases deep interaction and problem-solving skills, specifically case studies that demonstrate expertise and leadership with complex business platforms (at various stages of product maturity).
Track record of using user insights to drive business impact.
Understanding of complex workflows designed to scale across diverse, global operations teams.
Experience contributing to and consuming component-based design systems.
Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating a vision and aligning stakeholders.
Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail (e.g writing documentation to support your design decisions).
Thrive on autonomy but retain a company-wide strategic mindset, responsible for ensuring your work contributes to Netflix’s overall success.

ICING ON THE CAKE…
Experience working on software for the media & entertainment industry, particularly with subtitle and dubbing tools OR interaction and data-rich digital experiences.
Experience working with linguists or a background in linguistics.
Knowledge of multiple languages.
