As a Product Designer, you will craft successful, relevant products that help thousands of developers deliver better applications to their users, faster.
Product designers at CircleCI are curious, ask questions, dig deep into problems, and love to learn new things. We are strong problem solvers who understand sophisticated technical concepts and how they relate to user needs. We think holistically and can communicate structure, relationships and flow to our users and colleagues. We are craftspeople who understand the fundamentals of design and continually strive to hone that craft. We seek every opportunity to engage with customers and apply design to address real user problems. Our designers are insightful and collaborative and are able to work well with people from different backgrounds. We cultivate understanding and further diverse opinions. We are storytellers and deep listeners. We work iteratively and use feedback to produce the best possible designs for our customers.
We engage in
We make design decisions
We look to our senior designers to understand the domain and lead the design function for their product areas, think holistically about user journeys across the product, outline design processes, and clarify expectations. They understand their team’s domain and share their knowledge frequently with teammates. They mentor junior members of the design team, deliver praise and constructive feedback to teammates and business partners, and actively seek feedback on their own performance.
Senior product designers build positive relationships and help teammates overcome obstacles, contributing to the healthy functioning of the broader organization.
A successful designer on our developer experiences teams will have previous experience in developer tools, or an interest in the technical space and the curiosity to dig deep and learn more. In this role, they will have the chance to create designs for developer interfaces (such as VSCode or Yaml files for configuration) in addition to our web application.
Someone coming into this role should have experience using data analytics and user research to validate design decisions. This is a key role with the opportunity to work on challenging problems and contribute holistically to improving the experience of our customers.
This designer will work with team members whose location spans from the United States/Canada (P.S.T.) to the European Union (C.E.T.) timezones. Because of this, candidates will need to be available to work during standard Eastern Timezone working hours, in order to successfully collaborate with their teams.
We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.
