Senior Product Designer, CDMX

As a Senior Product Designer, you will be defining and designing new experiences and improving on existing ones in close collaboration with cross-functional product partners in engineering, research, analytics, marketing and product management.

We have multiple design roles open, including one working specifically on native app experiences that will utilize images and videos to reimagine how buyers browse and engage on Etsy.

We are particularly excited that this person will be based in Mexico. With its vibrant and booming technology scene, we believe that Mexico will be an ideal location for Etsy to put down new roots and expand our global workforce!

What’s product design like at Etsy?

Product designers at Etsy work in a squad alongside a product manager, 4-6 engineers, a researcher and a data analyst. Together they drive their own part of the Etsy customer experience by delivering solutions to problems and getting feedback directly from customers.

Day to day, it looks like:

• Running discovery phases and helping define product requirements

• Testing prototypes and hypotheses with users to collect feedback

• Launching experiments and evaluating how they perform and how to iterate

• Sharing your work to peers and leadership, asynchronous and in-person

• Taking part in weekly design critiques, workshops, all hands and squad meetings

• Thinking and writing about your process and documenting your decisions

Senior level at Etsy means:

• You can run independently or give direction to designers within your team
• You can lead discovery and ideation workshops and effectively align a group
• You have a track record of designing complex flows and customer journeys
• You can think and design at a system level, not just interface elements or pages
• You’ll regularly make use of your soft skills: listening, negotiating, decision-making
• You’ll spend time providing mentorship to other designers
• You’ll play a key part in hiring, onboarding, and improving our team’s culture and engagement

• We would like to see 4+ years of professional experience working in product design (although you might have had a different job title, like “UX Designer” or “Experience Designer”)

• We are looking for highly developed design skills, demonstrated in your portfolio of recent work

• As a bonus, your portfolio that has work showcasing successful delivery of mobile interface design solutions for iOS and Android

• It's important that you have business level ability in English
