Picture this: You just spent some days in Hawaii, unwinding. Now you have to check out from your hotel at 11 am, however, your flight is not until 10 pm. You have to drag all your luggage around, and just like that, you wasted a whole day. We are fixing this. How? Partnering with local businesses, leveraging unused space, and helping them create new income streams. Luggage storage is just the beginning.

Bounce is the global leading platform for luggage storage. Our mission is to build the largest tech-enabled retail chain in the world bringing net-new services to the mass market. We aim to build the “OS for brick & mortar SMB stores” powering new revenue channels at the "flip of a switch."

Bounce has global offices in San Francisco and Lisbon. We’re backed by some of the top investors in Silicon Valley and have an outstanding team that is continuously pushing the edge on what we can achieve.

In-office Location: Lisbon, Portugal 🌞
Remote Location: Europe 🌍

The opportunity

  • Joining a small but growing team means you can have a ton of impact. You will be given the trust, autonomy, and space to do your best work. You can shape the design system, the product direction, how we work and collaborate, our brand… We are always looking to improve how we do things.
  • Designing for Bounce means you’ll have the opportunity to shape the digital experiences, as well as the physical world experiences. You’ll play a crucial role in shaping the current product and new products.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll contribute to the overall strategy and decision-making about product direction. Contribute to the design system and design language.
  • You’ll conduct qualitative and quantitative research to inform direction and validate decisions. Whether this is exploratory research to uncover new problems or to validate design decisions.
  • You’ll own initiatives from beginning to end: research, defining the user experience, and shaping the interactions.
  • You’ll collaborate with other designers to ensure consistency across the platform, and to keep our quality bar high.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, assessing feasibility and iterating based on feedback.
  • Write, present, and share your process and solutions with the rest of the organization. We do this by writing, sharing Looms, or posting mockups on Slack.

TLDR; The skills you need

  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research. Knowing when to leverage existing data and when to gather qualitative feedback.
  • Ideation, prototyping, and validating your solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. Many of us work remotely, so this is critical.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the practice of design iteration by always experimenting, evaluating, and learning.
  • Being autonomous, a self-starter, and having a pragmatic mindset.

We offer

  • Work at a well-funded and proven startup with large ambitions
  • Competitive salary
  • Generous equity package
  • Private health insurance
  • Flexible vacation/time-off policy
  • All federal holidays are observed
  • Hybrid workplace. You’re free to work remotely, but you’re always welcome in our offices!
  • An entrepreneurial culture where pushing limits and taking risks is everyday business
  • Open communication with management and company leadership
  • Small, dynamic teams = massive impact
