Senior Product Designer

We're a small but nimble NYC-based team of builders with experience at Uber, Amazon, Google, Slack, and Bloomberg and are looking for new members who love building software, want to work hard, and will collaborate with us in shaping the culture of a growing team.

We’re well funded, having raised $6M from Accel, Y Combinator, Slack Fund, Flexport, Elad Gil, Lenny Rachitsky, and a handful of other angels.

As an early team member and our first full-time designer, you will get a chance to set the core foundations of the Design organization at Avenue.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of major features and drive the product design lifecycle

• Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, customer success, and other partners

• Run weekly design reviews with the team

• Use and evolve our internal design system

• Hold strong opinions on design decisions to ensure we are building a high-quality product for our customers

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

• 4+ years of full-time product design experience at a B2B SaaS startup

• A sense of customer-obsession and excitement when spending time with them

• Ability to use tools for design visualization and iteration (Figma)

• Experience working with (and building on) a design system

• Ability to reprioritize work on a whim and comfortable with a fast-paced working environment

• A high-level understanding of basic technical concepts such as HTML, CSS, SQL and databases

2. Get a lot done. You enjoy all aspects of building a product and are comfortable moving across the stack when necessary. You problem solve independently and enjoy figuring stuff out.

3. High conviction. When you commit to something, you're in all the way. You're opinionated, but you know when to disagree and commit. Mediocrity is the worst of all possible outcomes.
