Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity, assuming candidates have eligible working rights and a sufficient timezone overlap with their team. As our offices re-open, Atlassians can choose to work remotely or return to an office, unless it’s necessary for the role to be performed in the office. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
With a sufficient timezone overlap with the team, we’re able to hire eligible candidates for this role from any location in Australia and New Zealand. If this sparks your interest, apply today and chat with our friendly Recruitment team further.
Do you love complex problems, making people’s life easier, and empowering teams to get the work they need to do, done? We're looking for a Product Designer to join the team making Jira Software easier and more satisfying to use.
If you are dedicated to user experience, love solving problems and thrive on variety, this is a great opportunity for you.
As a Senior Product Designer, you'll work with a small, cross-functional team of Designers, Engineers, and Product Managers to innovate the way development teams build amazing software. You’ll also be part of a thriving and welcoming design team committed to putting customers first. If you want to make a meaningful impact on products that people rely on and use every day, this is an outstanding opportunity.
Come join a product team that's innovating the way developers collaborate and build software all over the world: Atlassian is searching for a Product Designer to join our team. You’ll be part of the team improving our customer's vital day to day interactions with our product, which is relied on by modern software development teams worldwide.
As a Senior Product Designer, your mission will be to deliver high quality end-to-end experiences our customers love. In this role, you’ll work on improving the core experiences across our products, including Jira Software, Confluence, Trello, Bitbucket and many more, for tasks that people do every day. You’ll be focusing on how we can increase our customer’s satisfaction and also delight them.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Extensive years of professional UX/product design experience, ideally designing complex or enterprise-level software
  • Ability to drive user-centered design process to tackle complex customer problems
  • Strong facilitation and cross-functional collaboration skills: you can demonstrate the ability to work across multiple teams, solicit and synthesize feedback, and facilitate design discussions
  • Flexibility and openness to the iterative design process – constantly sketching, showing work in progress, validating with customers and data, iterating, shipping, learning, and growing
  • Experience with conducting and applying customer research, including design thinking, prototyping, and conceptual modeling
  • The ability to see the whole user experience, not only the part you’re working on, and have as much skill in identifying what needs to be removed, as you do in suggesting what can be added
  • Ability to define projects and measures of success, test your assumptions and outcomes, and continuously incorporate feedback

As a Senior Product Designer at Atlassian you'll:

  • Make a substantial impact at scale. We have more than 10M users all around the world—and teams (massive and small) depend on our software to do their work. Organizations like NASA, Twitter, and LinkedIn use Atlassian products everyday;. As a designer involved in everything from ground floor product strategy to UI implementation, your work will have incredible customer impact.
  • Tackle interesting, complex problems. Working closely with your engineering and product partners, you'll have a large amount of ownership and autonomy across the entire design process; rather than just design individual features, you'll have the opportunity to define the end-to-end experience of an exciting and critical area of our business.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with some of the smartest (and nicest) people in the industry. Day-to-day you'll work on a fast-moving, multidisciplinary product team, collaborating closely with Engineers, Product Managers, Content Designers, Researchers, Marketing Experts, and Analysts to champion the user experience in our products and ship high quality work.
  • Be a true champion for our users. We take design seriously, and in line with one of our core values, ("Don't F the Customer") are on a mission to become an experience-led company. We want to make our customers love how easily our products help them.
