In many product organizations, design is reduced to a service function. Receive a ticket, apply the design system, and hand it back. Or, you are siloed into just an iOS app or a dashboard, losing sight of the holistic user journey.

In this role, we offer a different mandate: Total Ecosystem Ownership.

We are looking for a Product Designer to architect the next generation of the Airtame app interface. Because we are a hybrid hardware-software company, your canvas isn't just a browser — it’s the interaction between physical screens, desktop applications (Mac/Windows/Linux), mobile devices, and the web.

Airtame is a platform for shared screens across education and business. It lets people share their screen, join video calls, and show content on any display — wirelessly, from any device and operating system. IT teams manage everything via Airtame Cloud, and the platform works with both Airtame and Airtame-enabled third-party hardware. Founded in Denmark in 2013, Airtame is built for real-world environments with mixed tech, and is used in thousands of schools and workplaces globally.

Currently, our Collaboration team is operating with limited design resources, which creates bottlenecks. So you aren't coming in to fight for a seat at the table, the team is actively waiting for a partner to lead the way, unblock development, and elevate the quality of our most visited interfaces immediately.

The Outcomes: How You Will Define Success in Year 1

  • Unify the Ecosystem: You have led the design of our next-generation interface, creating a seamless visual and functional thread that connects our Web, Mobile, and Desktop experiences.
  • Humanize the Edge Cases: You have significantly improved our error and recovery handling. When hardware/network connections fail (as they sometimes do), your UI guides the user with clarity and calm rather than technical frustration.
  • Scale Airtame UI: You have taken ownership of our component library. You are the ambassador for the system, ensuring developers can build consistent, high-quality flows without reinventing the wheel.
  • Mature the Discovery Process: You have moved us beyond "building fast" to "building right." You have established a rhythm of user research and testing that validates problems before we write code.

What will make you successful (Requirements)

  • The Cross-Platform Native: You have 4+ years of experience designing complex digital products. You know how to design elegantly for both touch screens and the web.
Experience with native Desktop apps (Mac/Windows) is a big plus.
  • The Full Stack Designer: You can confidently lead the entire lifecycle — from thoroughly researching the initial problem to delivering pixel-perfect UI assets.
  • The Translator: You can explain complex interaction models to stakeholders who don't speak design in depth, turning subjective opinions into objective decisions.
  • The Pragmatist: You have a strong eye for aesthetics, but you prioritize clarity. You understand that in a meeting room context, the interface should be invisible until it is needed.
  • The System Steward: You have managed company-wide design systems with Figma or similar design tools: components, layouts, project structuring, and workflows.

Why Airtame

  • Impact: You will see your designs used in tens of thousands of meeting rooms and classrooms globally.
  • A healthy work-life balance.
  • Five weeks paid vacation and 5 days of extra paid AirtameFlex days.
  • Pension and private health insurance.
  • Flexible work environment, with a hybrid mindset.
