Senior Product Designer (1 year contract)

As a Senior Product Designer, you will be joining a cross-functional team focusing on providing delightful (easy to use and trustworthy) onboarding experience to all Sumup merchants in different countries. You will collaborate closely with product and tech as well as risk and compliance to shape a consumer-facing part of the onboarding experience for our new merchants. You will be involved and actively participating in the solutions hypothesis creation and AB test experimentation.

As we put the user at the center of every decision, we need a strong designer that constantly advocates and drives a human-centered design approach. You will support the team by applying your craft, delivering on our commitment to design excellence.

As part of the SumUp community, you will work with our Design System, applying and adapting it to the new product needs. The ideal candidate has experience and is comfortable working closely with engineers to implement solutions. 

Note: for this role we are offering a fixed term contract (1 year)

Your Profile

• You have 5+ years of experience as a UX & UI Designer, with deep expertise in one and strong skills in the other.
• Your design process follows a human-centred approach, and you apply both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to validate your solutions
• You have deep expertise working with design systems
• You execute across all phases of design work: participate in research, define the conceptual foundation for design solutions, execute excellent UX flows, apply visual design systems, prototype using a variety of tools and methods, create production-ready designs, participate or conduct usability testing and support multi-disciplinary teams during implementation. 
• You work independently on complex set of features, collaborate with product management and engineering to arrive at optimal solutions, and coordinate across teams to create a holistic merchant experience
• You proactively engage with your design chapter and peers to get feedback and optimize the end-to-end user journey
• You have designed and shipped complex web and mobile applications across the entire product development cycle
• Your excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills will help you communicate the value of design and design rationale across the whole company
• You have experience in working in an agile environment and the ability to adapt quickly to changing product priorities
• BA or MA in Design or related fields, or complementary studies with deep work experience in product design
