We are looking for a Senior Product Design Manager to shape the vision and execution of Squarespace.com. This person will be a hands-on leader whose responsibility is to oversee the design of a tailored experience that paths users to key conversion moments and communicates the value and wide-ranging possibilities of all Squarespace products.

You will be challenged in an organization that values both vision and execution. You will take ownership of the product space by solving complex problems in partnership with product and engineering leaders. All solutions under your leadership will be well-executed from a brand, visual, interaction, and usability perspective. You are experiment-minded and quick to explore and test new ideas. You are a trusted true team leader who is capable of fostering a collaborative, creative environment and leading a team of designers with a wide range of skill-sets.

You will report to a Senior Director of Product Design on the squarespace.com team in NYC.

You'll Get To…

  • Inspire and challenge a team of designers to push the impact and quality of their work
  • Support the designers on your team by setting clear goals, managing workloads, and and creating the culture and support structure to ensure continuous growth and skill development
  • Work with designers and teams to ensure the best, most relevant processes and practices are employed and evolved as necessary
  • Utilize and improve upon existing design paradigms, while simultaneously pushing to evolve our design language and systems
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering and research, as well as cross-functional teams including Creative, Marketing and Brand
  • Continually seek to understand the capabilities and technical constraints of the systems with which you'll be working
  • Partner with product and engineerings leads to drive strategy in the areas you manage, including competitive research and pushing to leverage potential opportunities
  • Participate in user research and testing, ensuring usability and product consistency
  • Follow both large and small projects through, beyond delivery
  • Present strategy and solutions clearly and effectively to executive rooms.
  • Ensure feedback is considered

Who We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of digital/product design experience
  • 3+ years of management experience leading designers
  • Well versed in, and opinionated about visual and user experience design
  • Well rounded understanding of information architecture
  • Great taste and aesthetic sensibility
  • Love of iterative development
  • A solid understanding of how web and mobile applications work
  • A deep-seated awareness of what makes a great product experience

Cash Compensation Range: $223,000 - $358,800 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
