Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA.But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

You will lead Product Design for Canva's Ecosystem Product; One of the fastest growing and crucial parts for Canva to maximize our impact and innovation by allowing our users to create an abundant app ecosystem in Canva.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

working collaboratively to create and champion the design vision for the Canva Ecosystem product
leading Product Design projects across the 10 cross-functional teams that currently make up Ecosystem.
having an impact through your coachees: Product Designers, and Product Design Leads (coaches) within Ecosystem
helping grow and develop your coachees' abilities through setting seasonal growth goals & providing thoughtful and effective coaching
collaborating with Product Leads and Engineering Leads to make sure you’re prioritizing the most important features
communicating future design directions with key stakeholders including Group Leads, Design Leaders and Founders
planning for future design resourcing needs with the Head of Design
providing clarity to your design team through clear articulation of vision and strategy, especially while going through periods of ambiguity or roadblocks

You're probably a match if

You have experience as a Senior Product Design Manager / Director / Lead directing strategy and design across a team
Strong design coaching and people leadership experience - you know how to make an impact through empowering, growing, and motivating your team of designers
Extensive experience communicating with senior stakeholders/founders and other specialties
A track record of tackling complex problems and delivering simple, elegant solutions. You hold a high bar for designing clean, elegant, and usable designs.
Deep understanding of how to uncover user needs through research and user empathy
A strong sense of design ethics - understanding that the design decisions we make at Canva impact millions of lives, every day
Whilst you may not be on the tools every day, you're comfortable coaching both UX and UI craft
You've had extensive experience shipping digital products in the past and can show the impact that you have through your team in your portfolio OR a case study; please include either of these in your application

Canva’s Ecosystem Group was formed in 2021, unifying Canva’s developer ecosystem investments, to create an abundant (app and developer) ecosystem that tailors Canva for each user. Our aim is to build the world’s richest Ecosystem of apps and integrations for visual design and communications on Canva. With the proliferation of innovations in generative AI and as large organizations have increasingly complex workflows to manage their designs, Canva is well poised to become the platform that simplifies access and discovery of services relate to visual design.
To that end we are building out the Canva Developer Platform to enable developers flexibility in creating innovative app experiences within Canva. We are already working with hundreds of third-party developers and have several thousands in our waitlist. You will shape the future of this platform and the corresponding app and integration ecosystem.
