We are looking for someone to lead the design of our Incentive Compensation programs across all areas of Affirm’s business. This highly dynamic role will require you to move from big picture thinking to the design and delivery of effective incentive compensation programs aligning our business strategy with rewarding our high performing employees. You will draw on your deep experience in incentive plan design to create plans that will motivate our high-performance teams, drive the right behaviors to serve our customers and merchants, deliver on key business goals and support our pay for performance culture. 

What You’ll Do

  • Support Affirm business priorities, operational goals, values, and culture by leading the design and development of Affirm’s incentive compensation programs.
  • Lead, manage and streamline all elements of the design of our incentive compensation programs.
  • Analyze trends, research best practices, monitor economic conditions, maintain awareness of local legal/regulatory requirements and make recommendations for program revisions and development.
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders across Business leadership, Revenue Operations, Finance, Legal, and People teams to understand their needs, solve business challenges, and ensure successful design and deployment of incentive compensation programs.
  • Serve as a thought leader in incentive plan design and provide guidance, direction and recommendations to Business leaders on best practices in design, caring for the needs of the business while appropriately managing risk.
  • Own and define the incentive design process, including design process requirements and governance.
  • Lead the development and creation of incentive plan communications, documents and roll-out materials to ensure that leaders and employees have a solid understanding of plan design, mechanics and administration; ensure communications are well planned and effectively implemented.
  • Partner with our Revenue Operations and Finance teams on recommendations regarding ongoing plan management matters. Provide guidance to plan administrators to ensure actions are consistent with plan terms and across plan participants.

What We Look For

  • 10+ years experience, with at least 7+ years in Compensation.
  • Should include experience with incentive compensation design across sales, operations, and other various functions in a financial or fintech organization.
  • Progressive experience with increasing levels of responsibility in identifying, consulting, designing, recommending, and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions.
  • Deep subject matter expertise, including trends, thought leadership and practical hands-on design work.
  • Proven experience partnering and collaborating well with Senior Leadership in the Business, Finance, Legal and People functions.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively through philosophy through execution / operations.
  • Highly skilled at analytics (advanced Excel skills at minimum), data visualization, planning, process efficiency, organization, critical thinking, and delegation.
  • Proven ability to grow and develop others to reach their full potential.
  • Excellent business acumen and judgment; strong team orientation with collaborative style; able to maturely handle sensitive and confidential information.

We are currently building operations in Spain, Poland, and Australia.  Employees in remote roles have the option of working remotely or from an Affirm office in their country of hire, and may occasionally travel to an Affirm office or elsewhere for required meetings or team-building events. Our offices in Chicago, New York, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Toronto will remain operational and accessible for anyone to use on a voluntary basis, subject to local COVID-19 guidelines.
