We seek an accomplished and entrepreneurial Senior Director of Product Marketing to propel us forward in this multifaceted technology space. This leader will drive, develop, and manage our global Product Marketing team and play a key driving role in Sonatype’s future growth, leading the positioning of our platform and building a high-performing function.
As the Senior Director of Product Marketing, you will be responsible for leading and managing the product marketing function, which includes product positioning, messaging, go-to-market execution of our product portfolio, competitive intelligence, analyst relations, & market research.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all aspects of global product marketing function in a fast-paced, high-growth private-equity backed DevSecOps product company.
- Define team-wide metrics and annual and quarterly plans and oversee the functional budget. Develop and deploy team-wide key competencies and best practices that strive to retain and grow talent.
- Serves as a key contributor and influencer to Marketing, Sales, and Leadership teams on Sonatype’s platform and product value messaging.
- Inform and drive comprehensive messaging and positioning strategies, ensuring maximum impact for product releases, lead generation, launch strategies, revenue growth, and enablement.
- Conduct ongoing competitive marketing intelligence programs (e.g., market research, win/loss analysis, market intelligence). Analyze market intelligence and provide strategic insights that inform product positioning, marketing strategies, and product development.
- Lead Analyst Relations. Build and maintain strong relationships with industry analysts and influencers. Implement strategies to support positioning that keeps Sonatype ahead of the competition and well-positioned within analyst reports.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, sales, and marketing teams to align on product messaging, launch strategies, event and sales enablement strategies.
- Oversee the creation of high-impact content such as value positioning, web pages, sales decks, webinars, white papers, product videos, and web/digital assets. Ensure content is aligned with target audiences' needs and reflects the brand voice.
- Support the marketing team with demand generation campaigns and product launches and ensure technical accuracy in marketing materials and positioning in external branding.
- Design a competitive intelligence program that compliments product roadmap priorities and sales enablement.
