MongoDB is seeking a Senior Director of Product Marketing to lead the strategic marketing initiatives for our core database products and services, including MongoDB Enterprise Advanced, MongoDB Atlas, and our growing portfolio of data services. This leader will be pivotal in developing the product marketing strategy, messaging, and positioning for this portfolio, while closely collaborating with and supporting other marketing functions to drive successful go-to-market execution. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in product marketing within the technology sector, demonstrating an ability to lead strategically and foster collaboration across various teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft and oversee the product marketing strategy, messaging, and positioning for MongoDB’s core database products and services.
  • Work closely with product management, marketing, and sales leadership to align on the overall go-to-market (GTM) strategy at a product, category, and portfolio level; and ensure successful execution across the organization.
  • Act as a bridge between the product marketing team and other marketing functions, such as field marketing, corporate marketing, developer relations, industry and partner marketing, and digital marketing, and ensure product marketing is supporting them in rolling out marketing and broader GTM initiatives
  • Conduct market analysis to inform product strategy and competitive positioning.
  • Lead the creation of compelling content that supports GTM strategies to articulate the value proposition and differentiators of the products to the target audience.
  • Define key performance indicators and measure the impact of product marketing activities on business objectives.
  • Foster strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across the company to ensure alignment and collaboration on marketing and GTM initiatives, as well as with external stakeholders including analysts and press to strengthen our awareness and perception as an innovator and market leader.
  • Design and implement processes and workflows within product marketing that ensure consistent, high-quality results, fostering reliability and transparency across teams to enable their success and drive the organization’s objectives.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in marketing and product marketing, with a significant track record in leadership roles, preferably in the cloud computing or enterprise software space
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic marketing plans and successfully collaborate with other marketing teams for execution
  • In-depth understanding of the intersection of enterprise cloud services and developer marketing, with the aptitude to translate complex technical details into compelling marketing messages
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of driving strategy and alignment across various teams
  • Analytical thinker with a data-driven approach to marketing strategy and performance measurement
  • Experience in dynamic, high-growth environments, adapting to evolving business needs and market trends

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.
